Another wasted draft pick regarding Maroney,this time the draft pick given by the Broncos (albeit a much lower draft pick loss than NE)

So now that Maroney is available,should we take him back?? (just kidding,I would rather Duane Starks return as starting CB then Maroney to return )

I honestly don't think there will be a team willing to sign him other than on STs where he was pretty good in the open field,as a RB he is next to worthless.

Now on the other hand,Marion Barber,Maroney's former Gopher partner is probably going to be a FA and I would think he would work well with BJGE and Woodhead.

With all due respect, he was pretty good in 2006 and 2007. He may not have been what the Pats wanted him to be, but Maroney in 2006/2007 certainly wasn't the same guy he was for Denver.

Does everyone forget that the Pats had a passing game in 2007 that defenses feared?

Defenses knew the Pats were not going to run the ball much with all that Brady had as WRs so of course the defenses didn't play the run up close and they certainly didn't blitz either..Maroney benefitted in 2007 from one of the best passing offenses ever.

This is precisely the reason why he might top my list of least favorite Patriots since BB took over. I thought he was a chump of a prospect coming out of college (I know he had good numbers, but his game was too wimpy), couldn't believe we passed on Lawson/D Williams for him, then he gets my hopes sky high after a great rookie year only to **** the bed the next several seasons. He always loved to talk about how injured he was... **** you Laurence.
