If you trade for Jeudy, you're trading for potential, clearly. It's a risky move, particularly for the Patriots, particularly because he's an outside-the-hash-marks receiver. He's got all the "tools," but so does Jalen Reagor. I haven't watched the Broncos this year - maybe it's how they're using or not using him, but he's got fewer yards than Jonnu Smith.
Is he a missing piece on the Pats? I have no faith in Thornton at this point. Reagor? Boutte can't see the field.
To me, the Pats are thick with 500-700 yard WRs. Would Jeudy be adding just another guy to that mix? Personally, I'd be working hard to re-sign at least two of Brown, Gesicki, and Henry (Brown and at least one of the others, because Brown is more complete in the blocking department), and Bourne. And I'd be playing Reagor, Boutte, and Thornton as two of my top 3 with Pop. See what they got.
This isn't going to be a homerun team with Mac QB'ing. That's okay if you've got good TEs and one or two guys who can break those underneath routes into homerun territory - you know, like Boutte did in PS...the first Pats WR in years who's shown that kind of ability, but he made a rookie mistake and so now can't play anymore until his third year...when we'll be wondering if we can afford to keep him.
