This is rather amusing.
  • 9 completions on 11 attempts [81.8%]
  • 227 yards [20.6 YPA, 25.2 YPC]
  • 1 TD, 0 INT
  • 149.0 passer rating
  • 11 rushing attempts for –8 yards
  • Every drive he's led this season has ended with a TD or a victory formation.

QB controversy!

If there's an insight to get from this, it's that we only seem to bench Mac in the good way.
Yeah that is the takeaway. This is the correct use of a guy like Brian Hoyer

Hoyer is 36 and this is the last regular season game of his contract. I think the team wants Jarrett Stidham to take the backup role next year.

If Hoyer gets to take some snaps this weekend I wonder if those will be the last ones he ever takes in the NFL...

He could be the next Player turned coach for us.

I would welcome him as a QB coach or offensive assistant.
He may know the offense better than Mcdaniels even.

Like many other people, carrying TB12's shoulder pads paid off for him.

But he never played this well alongside Brady. I'd say Mac has taught him a lot.

Here's just one example:

Still not as good as Edelman.
158.3 regular season, 135.4 post season.
87.5% completions.
Over 20 yards per attempt, and 1 TD every 4 attempts.
Frequently complained about a sore shoulder, however.

According to Overthecap, his contract was for $1,075,000 this season, or $114k per attempt and $97k per completion. Not bad for holding a clipboard (or Surface). He's been paid $20.9 million cash over his career.

Seems like it is a victory lap kind of season season for Hoyer.

If you told me back in August that Hoyer would have playing time at all this year I would've been sad.
