He is the QB of that D. Still looks like he won't play..but i guess he was back at practice today running drills?

Would be a big boost to them if he could play

Brady Carved them up without Dawkins, hopefully he won't play. If he does, even though he's not the player he once was, that's a big boost for the Broncos.

Dawkins is smart, experienced, heady, ferocious player, it absolutely gives them a huge boost if he's in, that being said run run run Ridley

Dawk's cover skills at this point make James Sanders look like a lockdown safety.

Dang! Dawkins is the MVP of Denver's Defense.

Our 3-game skid coincided with his neck injury. He's an emotional leader, but there's only so much you can do in a 3-piece suit on the sidelines. We've been hoping he could start against New England.

If not, maybe he'll be able to start against B-More or Houston. (Crosses fingers)

He is not as good in coverage as he used to be but he brings so much energy. Great leader and it definitely hurts Denver's D if he isn't playing.

How would the Patriots acquire him so that he could start against B-more or Houston, now that the trade deadline has passed?

He is slow as hell compared to others on D...even if he plays..i still think brady tears them up

Where did you see that he was back at practice? All I've seen is that he didn't participate at practice today. Running drills seems like participation to me. I've seen pictures of him jogging in sweats, but he has a neck injury so jogging around really isn't much of an indication one way or the other.

Looked at the broncos forum..tweets from denver reporters it looks like

I doubt he plays. It is a nagging injury. He tried to go a few weeks ago and lasted about a quarter before he left. The Denver defense hasn't been the same with the absence of Dawkins. He is the "QB" of that defense. While the rookie Carter is getting better, he is a major downgrade for the Broncos.

Agree. They haven't had Dawkins for a while so having him out seems like less of an issue than finding a full-time replacement. From what I can gather they have soured on Rahim Moore (active but didn't play against Steelers) and Brouton is limited by an achilles injury...not a good injury for a guy chasing AHern.

Rahim Moore has been a major disappointment. The guy can't tackle and is constantly out of position in coverage. Bruton is serviceable but definitely not a good match up against Gronk of Hernandez. I read that the Broncos may opt to put Chris Harris on one of the two TE's. He played safety in college and has been a very good find for Denver. Either way, one of the Patriots Tight Ends is going to get his catches. As I broncos fan, I can only hope that they don't have a repeat of what Hernandez did in week 15.

If Dawkins is in there it will only make things tougher for the Patriots.

Someone tweeted from the Denver Post that Dawkins was present....I RT'd it....but he was wrong.

Dawkins was listed on the report as DNP.

I think Dawkin' watched practice. If he doesn't practice today he will not play.

As good as Dawkins is it is hard to walk in off the street for a long time and be expected to play well. I am glad Chung and Spikes both got snaps against Buffallo, but I expect both will still have some rust in their games particulalry after the bye week. The issue is the injured or rusty player better than the next man up and will the team be better off having the player on the field to get used to the game again ?

Also, I just don't like neck injuries. I do not want to see any player taking chances with that part of his body (and yes I know it is often the player's choice). I don't like seeing any injuries, but injuries to the head and neck are in a different class of bad.

I thought Chung and Spikes looked pretty good considering...I hope they both continue their development from that as they could be huge factors this weekend. The fact we didn't have them was a huge factor in the struggles we had later on in the season against the run.

Agreed on head/neck injuries. I myself picked up a concussion playing and didn't say anything. I went about every day business and managed to hit my head again...I had post concussion syndrome and contracted epilepsy. I can't play any more. I'm 21, can't drink more than a pint or two when I go out because of my medication to stop my seizures...I'm a class A walking example of why the NFL SHOULD be cracking down on what they're trying to crack down on.

This is a terrible story. Is there any hope of the epilepsy going away? Or will is control the best outcome?
