Different cases, I know, but T. Chambliss was allowed to go back to Ole Miss. I think it gets settled and he's going to play for TT this year.

It’ll be very interesting if he has to enter the supplemental draft. Next year’s draft is very deep in QB’s but he’s a good prospect. Also the 2027 picks are valuable right now. It’s a dilemma for QB needy teams. What is his value to those teams right now? I would think he doesn’t get out of the second round.

I can't see how a team invests that in a QB with questionable tape (promise but not close to the finished product) and an addiction like that. Sorsby's stock was all about anticipating what he could achieve at TTU.

Not great film + real danger of addiction regression = 3rd tops. more likely 4th for me.

As you say, with the potential of the upcoming class, why risk Sorsby when you could wait on Mensah, Maiava, Hoover or Leavitt if you want a 2nd tier QB.

One of my thoughts was that a team like Denver, who's built to win now, that has a QB that is questionable how he'll play on an injured foot, could invest a 2nd for Sorsby. But yeah, the gambling investigation is a big red flag right now, even though he went into treatment for addiction. As far as his QB ceiling I think he's worth a 2nd. He can throw it deep, which Sean Payton will like. But you make a good case for him not being picked until at least the 3rd round.

There are 2 types of teams I could see making a run at Sorsby if he enters the supplemental draft:

1. Bottom-dwellers desperate for a QB. This includes teams like the Jets and Arizona. They will be in the first group picking in each round. Offer an early 3rd. If Sorsby looks good, you can pass on QB in 2027 and get a blue chip player. If things look shaky, you've only given up a 3rd.

2. Serious contenders like Seattle and Denver. Depth at QB is gold, and Sorsby has the talent to develop into a better starter than Sam Darnold or Bo Nix. A late 2nd is really an early 3rd. Teams have to take gambles when picking late.

2 game suspension. Sorry for the links to the same tweet, but everyone is quote tweeting it so it keeps coming up.

The second missed game for Sorsby is an interesting one. The first is Abilee Christian, but then Texas Tech travel to Oklahoma State who are an ascendent team. That'll be a big game for both. Can TTU eke out a win in their push for the playoffs and it'll be evidence of how successful the Oklahoma State rebuild might be.
