It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I figured he was going to surpass it, and to be honest, would have been happy for him if he did. Lost in this Manning choked talk (which I admit, I can't get enough of) is the fact that Brees was as accurate as a sniper tonight and established himself as a big game and elite cornerback.

A tied record is a worthy trade for this victory for us Pats fans.
AGREED!!! I didn't even care if he broke it to be honest, as long as Seyton and the Toilet Seats lost, it was all good to me! :singing: Although now that the Saints won, I'm glad Brees only tied TFB!!!

Honestly, I didn't think that record was too epic to begin with. It's cool to have lots of records, but unlike Young's 6TDs:1 Superbowl performance, I didn't think that this record [for completions] was really too important.
Hard not to be accurate when you don't complete a pass further than 10 yds away, and a vast majority of your passes are dumpoffs...
Not trying to take anything away from Brees, he played well, and is a good QB, but it's starting to get old hearing his name uttered in the same breath and Brady and Manning.
Not calling you out personally, just saying.
I mean, the dude had 32 completions for what 280? Kyle Orton style.

Why shouldn't he be uttered in the same breath now? He has his SB ring, and in the last 4 year span in the NFL, he has bested both Brady and Manning in most statistical categories.
It's not like this is Dilfer or Johnson just riding the rest of his team to a SB win. Brees is the leader on and off the field of that team, just like Brady is. And in his first superbowl ever, he was 32 of 39. With 2 drops and a spike the ball play. So out of 39 attempts, he missed on 4 passes. All game. in the SUPERBOWL.
We gotta love our Pats, but give credit where credit is due.
Ridiculous. He was taking what the defense gave them and carved them up for a win and the MVP. That's what he's supposed to do. He's the best statistical QB in the league since 2006 and deserves every bit of praise he gets.
I do give credit where credit is due.
Drew Brees is a great QB. He completed most of his passes because most of his passes traveled an average of about 5 yds. I mean yeah, any QB is going to complete those. I'm not blaming him for doing it, hell I would. But let's be real here.
It's not as impressive as the media is making it out to be. Most QBs in the NFL can complete the passes Brees made last night. Not ONCE did he make a throw that made me think "wow nice pass"...Manning DID however. Off the top of my head, his pass to Clark to the right sideline was unbelievable.
And bested Brady and Manning over the past 4 years? Are you high? Maybe in yds, and that would probably have something to do with the fact that he threw the ball close to 700 times per year 07-08.
Last night, while watching the Saints, I couldn't help but think to myself "Kyle Orton could effectively run this offense".

So now maybe you can get it when we say we're tired of listening to crap about Manning and his one ring greatness.
