Quite simply, Minnesota might be acknowledging that "we're just renting Moss for the rest of the season." In other words, he doesn't fit in their long-term plans, either.

So, Moss a JET in 2011?

Who is randy moss?

Wouldn't surprise me

We're going to come away with a 3rd and 4th round pick for Moss after trading down for picks in the 2020 draft, and we'll get to watch him torch our defense

How fun

This is one part to why it was a 3rd round pick. When comparing the Seymour deal Oakland gave up a 1st in 2011 which in some cases is the equivalent of a 2010 2nd round pick. Throw in the fact he's played 4 games already the pick probably dropped another around. Honestly I'd rather have a 2013 2nd when the Vikings are without Moss and Farve.

He just made a good point on twitter too:

Leverage point -- Harder for Pats to ask for a ton w/o giving Vikes a window to negotiate extension. NE motivated to get it done quickly.

Makes you think that the trade was driven more by NE then the Vikings

I trhouhgt it earlier.

Moss can put easily a Favre . Traded to Vikes and later to divisional rivals. The same way but backwards

All JETS faciousness aside (Jets have WRs) I could see 2011 FA Moss signed by...the Colts. THAT would be scary. I think I'd pray for a lockout.

The Colts might not be able to afford him after they resign Manning.

why the vikings? Why don't they send him to like the panthers or some hopeless team. Nobody else would take him for a 3rd?

Maybe we re-sign him? :bricks:

Mods, you really need to make it easier to put people on ignore.

Why so sensitive. Someone gives a differing opinion and you'd rather plug your ears and not hear it. :bricks:

because it was driven by Moss in the first place, and you want to get rid of him at a time where this would least impact the team, and the bye is the best time to do it.

You guys don't get it. This is Belichick at his most brilliant. Pats have a bye, they trade Moss to Minnesota for one week to beat the Jets, then they'll trade the pick back next week and get him back.

Come on: Moss, Garnett, Ortiz.....Minnesota likes to help us out.
