Brady was the QB, they were playing for rings… Tom literally took less money so the franchise could put every resource towards winning rings…. and you think he would be cool with them drafting a QB in the first round? Sounds legit…

Also Lamar Jackson has sucked in the playoffs, been the direct reason his teams have lost… so making the playoffs and losing is your barometer for good thank cheebus nobody was listening.
Good points wozzy.. just like to add Jackson wasn't the reason they lost this past season.. his best player in flowers was out and his targets dropped passes. But I see your points.

Lamar turned it over twice, just because the game was close at the end doesn’t erase his mistakes earlier in the game.

He averages about 2 turnovers a game in the playoffs… he is playoff poison.

Not denying the TOs.. but he still had a chance in the end.. his all pro TE got cold hands.. his pro bowl WR was out. You need to have all your playmakers available in the playoffs to maximize your chances. We lost the SB in 2012 because gronk got hurt.

Lamar would have been a great post Brady transition plan. The genius had no transitionplan. Would have taken 2 years ti transition to new offense.
The genius had no vision fir future.
Are you trying to tell me you would rather have Drake Maye than LJ?

The collaboration took over personnel back in 2021 after Wolf was hired.

And yes, I would take the potential of Drake Maye or any young accurate passer over Lamar. Lamar can’t win in the playoffs against superior defenses.

The Pats won a super bowl in 2016 when Gronk was hurt and not playing.

Lamar blows…

Should have won in 2012. Revisionist history.. prior to Drake to have a QB that blows like you say Lamar does would be an upgrade.

2012? Why are you looking at ancient history and saying what it? They weren’t good enough as a team. Tom wasn’t the reason they lost in the playoffs. Lamar is the direct reason the Ravens lose in the playoffs.

We dont hang banners in New England for making the playoffs and losing… this isn’t the Colts.

What do you mean ancient history?? Did Brady's injury have any impact on the 2008 superbowl? Did gronks ankle have anything to do with 2012? Point I'm making is flowers didn't play he's the Ravens best playmaker at WR.. anyhow when a team is without key pieces it's tough to win in the NFL. Did we win a superbowl in the 2008 season? We didn't even make the playoffs.. why becuase our best player was out. Injuries matter Wozzy

Ever seems hyperbolic, but he was a smart signing. It’s a team game.
Maybe but not too many teams in NFL history had that kind of talent at TE.

For SB teams, maybe GB w/ Keith Jackson and Mark Chmura come close.

Marty Bennett might have been the greatest TE2 ever. Not sure they win that ATL game w/o him.
Wich encompasses how sad the Hernandez situation is.. we have been chasing for a dynamic TE since that point. But your right on Bennett.

If BB had listened to the consensus on this board who to draft 2019-2024, Pats would be competing for a Super Bowl this year.
Lamar Jackson would be our qb and Mcconkey would be our WR1 and our shut down CB would be trent mcduffie
I will not even list all the losers that we would not have drafted
Even a casual fan would have done much better than the genius
We would also have George Kittle and AJ Brown instead of AsiAsi and Nkeal Harry
You also know that if BB had listened to the fans they would have drafted Sergio Kindle rather than Rob Gronkowski, right?

I agree and I only wish Kraft hadn’t committed to Mayo from the start. I wanted us to hire Vrabel last year. Better late than never.
Still, it’s better for Vrabel to follow Jerod Mayo rather than BB, just like it is better that Drake Maye is following Mac Jones rather than Tom Brady.

Both situations don’t leave them being compared to legends.

Your absolutely correct. Although we witnessed so much greatness for so long that.. any coach and QB will always seem to be unfairly compared to the era of winning never to be seen again in sports.
