Brandon Tate is a Cincinnati Bengal

Very disappointing he didn't pan out here. He had the potential to be a very good WR. Hopefully he can achieve that in Cincinnati.

Poor guy. Nobody deserves that.

LOL. Right. Not wishing him to fail but I don't know how much developing he's going to do on that Cincinnati Bengal team.

I don't think they have a true kick returner

Tate,if anything adds a nice ST KR to a team full of so so STers

Same here, I don't see the potential. I think he'll be out of the league sooner that he'll turn into any kind of impact player. There is just nothing fluid/natural about the guy, looked super mechanical with no instincts at all. On top of it, my sense is that he's kind of soft - I was feeling he was getting down on himself when not making plays versus coming out angrier. He's a great example of straight line speed not meaning much in the NFL - personally scratching my head at what the Pats actually saw in the guy in college.

Ocho sends his condolences Tate. Good luck there.

We should take bets or add a poll on which crime Tate will commit first now that he's a Bungle.

I call dibs on DUI.

"Grand Larceny" due to poor performance relating to his contract is not an option since the entire team will be guilty of that.

Aaaaaawww, too soon.

Well maybe now he won't have such a bad case of nerves. Hard to be nervous about your performance when you are on a team that doesn't perform, amirite?

From heaven to hell, poor guy.

Small, soft WR that couldn't separate with questionable hands. Not alot there at all, never was. I saw it last year. I wish him well, by all accounts, he's a good guy, I hope it works out for him. Sometimes a change of scenary can do wonders, maybe this will be that case.

And who knows, now that Carson Palmer's trade demand fell thru the cracks in an attempt to give his little brother a shot, maybe Carson will come crying back for his job with his brother being cut.

Good luck Brandon.

Just my 2 cts.
I think it was Slater who beat out Tate. Not Price beating him out of a job. Slater looked very good, ala field vision while running with the ball. And as far as speed goes?
Slater is no slouch
Good luck anyhow, to Tate.

Jets put in a claim for him according to Schefter.

In a way Tate was a PROJECT pick that just did not pan out. We took him b/c of his success @ UNC and he fell due to his Knee injury. I really do not like calling Project picks "BUSTS". It is unfortunate that he was a poor route runner, but he did not impress and at this point in time he was VERY replaceable.

Don't call a project pick a bust. His injury here hurt him severely and I am sure the UNC injury made him take multiple steps backwards as well. I was never a fan, but I defend project picks b/c the dude had GR8 VALUE when he was selected

And a big FU to the Cardinals and Jest for not ponying up a late draft pick.

So in essence, the Bengals traded Chad Ochocinco for a 2012 5th, 2013 6th, and Brandon Tate.

Tate for Ocho, I can live with that. Seriously the writing was on the wall for Tate though. He just wasn't getting it and he was tailing off in terms of kickoff returns. New KO rules made him an even more marginal player. My only regret is we didn't draft Mike Wallace with Tate's pick. Oh well, no scouting department is perfect but the Pats just seem to be bad at drafting wideouts. We have a lot more luck with trades.
