Brandon Marshall has it right.......

At the risk of being called a Ray Lewis fan, his reaction to Marshall telling him he should have won five SBs was priceless - like, "are you nuts?" priceless.

I love watching the faces of Simms and Esiason basically with their faces saying:

"How jealous and delusional can you people be"?

What do you mean "now that Peyton is gone". Manning has NEVER been an impediment to the Pats winning a superbowl. In 2006 it was the flue, the refs, and a 4th and 2 ball placement. In 2015 it was a injury riddled OL, a missed extra point, and an elite D that derailed the Pats. Manning has NEVER been the reason the Pats didn't get to a Superbowl.

Manning was a worthy adversary. It is true that he has generally beaten us in the playoffs when we were in our 'weaker' seasons for a multitude of reasons, but most other teams not named Baltimore/NY Giants weren't able to consistently be a threat so he deserves credit for that.

This has been a very strange Inside the NFL season as Marshall rejoined the cast late in the year and has made for some awkward scenes.

The first show Marshall was on he put together a montage of Simms clips that ripped the former QB and Phil was definitely pissed off.

Other times it's been Brandon vs. Ray competing for the same job as Boomer and Phil wonder how they signed up for this dogfight.

maybe brady/bill are just that good...people never want to admit that. I mean comebacks like we have seen from Brady are NOT the norm.

Look at the record of teams when their QB throws 50 times vs. Toms record?

That was awesome -- loved it!

You can’t copy the patriots with blake bortles and doug marrone...

It's actually very basic in the details.

I went to the Miami/Buffalo game last year Xmas eve. Playoff implications. Was simply hard to believe how undisciplined Buffalo's defense was.

They should have made he playoffs. The Bills lost the game in O/T on a run with 10 guys on the field.

I point out to people here in NE Ohio....watch tackling....Pats...guy goes down. Browns looking for big hits.

How hard is it to teach tackling?

Most gurus will say 3-4 games are decided by special teams. Who lavishes more time and money than BB?

You telling me even bad teams can't have great special teams?

When you think of it, with a league rigged to make it almost impossible to stay at a high level, the other 31 teams SHOULD be ashamed that they've allowed one team to be so successful for so many years.
The irony is that the more complex they make the rigging the more they play into BB's hand. He masters that complexity better than anyone else.

If some players value $ over rings that fine everyones got to eat. Just dont complain when you loose every year. I would also argue its 16 teams to blame vs 32.
I mentioned this in another thread.
We have a lot of "good/great" players.
But most teams need those top picks, who command top dollars.
When the other teams figure that out, they have a chance
But they are lazy, and stubborn

Lots of teams try to copy the Patriots. But the copies are never as good as the original.

What they CAN do is put a premium on drafting and signing smart, versatile, team-oriented players of respectable character. It seems everyone but the Patriots values individual talent above all else.

Preach.

Bortles played a great game - Jax had every chance to win, in New England, after pummeling Pittsburgh.
And they still lost. Preach that!

I invite you to rewatch SB XLII and XLVI.

The Jaguars lost a game. It doesn't mean they're miles behind.

When they cave to pay borr
#22 – Jarrod Wilson/S Michigan: 6-2, 210 (college measurements)

The Good

– Has experience playing over slot, boundary corner
– Not afraid to step up against run
– Patient in contain
– Puts helmet on ball when tackling, causes turnovers
– Disruptive downhill blitzer, gets hands up to bat down balls
– Impressive bend to defeat blockers

The Bad

– Will take poor angles against the run
– Slow laterally, lacks range deep
– Can be just too complacent in waiting for plays to develop
– Difficulties staying deep in two-high, plays too far back in single-high
– Limited explosion out of break
– Questionable play vision, will run himself out of plays

Except when they have to pay bortles 20 mil per like balt did with flacco, and look what happened to baltimore....just saying

Believe it or not Phil Simms had a nice response to Brandon.

Did you just say Marshall is a "very smart dude"?

Wow.

He's a poseur who wants to sound smart, who regurgitates rhetoric.
There are lots of things about Marshall I don't like and there are qualities I think he lacks which keep him from being the performer his skills seem to warrant. But, in my opinion, intelligence is not one of them. He strikes me as very bright and well-spoken.

I agree with all of that however I don't know if Brandon can do it live where they can't bleep all his mother f------.

I hope he can learn to retain his zest for life but I would bet even money he starts a melee back at a studio one day,.

The Pats were taking that stuff away by playing some zone to force them to run the ball more, where they then bottled that up, too.

On Bortles as well. He finished with -1 yard rushing, I believe.

Lots of zone blitzing is what I saw the adjustments to be, making Bortles think faster than he wanted to.
Thing is, there's room to be a very, very good coach and still get outcoached by Bill Belichick. Pete Carroll is a very good coach. Bill made him look like an idiot in SB49. It happens. The guy is a legend for a reason.

Bellicheck leaves no stone unturned. He is the ultimate mother hen. I mean that in a good way. Ducks are in a row. And everyone doesn't get far out of bounds. Best coach I have ever seen on any level. Also, he groomed Brady as an on field coach. Best on field coach of all time. Now combine that with a kid, who is now a old buffer like us, and you have dominance. Nobody can see this as obvious, but Jerry made sure there was a reason behind we were winning so much. Our hatred is misguided, our hatred should be leveled at JJones. He spends more time trying to out f Kraft and the league politics than building his dynasty. If there is a fan base that should feel like hey were robbed... it's the cowboys. Their owner has locked them out of glory because of personal power trip and greed.

Can you imagine what is going through Jamie Collins mind right now?

He got his huge payday, and then went 0-16! What a culture shock that must be
