Every other NFL fan board: HOLY **** what an incredible catch!

Patsfans board: Seriously, the guy gets no YAC and always falls down...

He's had a bunch of incredible passes this year. His body control is just absolutely amazing.

I'm gonna guess the team had reasons in addition to posts on this forum for getting rid of the guy.

Great catch. He does always fall down and get no YAC, though. I used him as an example of a "football move" (falling down, in his case). Too bad there's no style points, I guess.

should have hung onto him for at least last season. badly could have used him when nobody was catching anything.

After watching his 80 yd catch last night, my first reaction was..."New meds."
In 2014...7 catches 189 tds....good for him. During his 2013 hiatus away from the NFL, he must have rethought his Torry Holt "self preservation" philosophy of catch and fall. That and a personality reboot

True, but he still gets no YAC and falls down after completing the catch.

This season, he's certainly been an adventure to watch.

pretty sure thats not why we cut him though. He was just a very weird guy apparently

He pisses me off. Now, I do wish we would have kept him last season, I think he would have helped a lot. He was solid for us but yeah fell down too much. Now he goes away for a year and comes back and is making these big plays, it's ridiculous

We ahould havw kept him instead of signing amendola, who is a waste

That was the "I trust you ball" from Kapernick. Let's be real him and Tom never had that. They just didn't click.

The guy was a head case who apparently wanted an entertainment career over the NFL. The fact he mentally swung back closer to normal and refocused in signing with the Niners in April of this year does not imply the Pats could have held him and weathered that storm. It was not YAC or a lack of ability that drove him away. It was multiple reports of lunacy not offset by irreplaceable performances. There is a reason a guy with his ability has moved 7 times in 11 seasons.

One of the best football pictures ever was of Llloyd as he sailed into the endzone (falling down ) after a great catch. It looks photoshopped.

Lloyd was offered to stay for a paycut so he couldn't have been let go for being weird.

The method the YAC stat gets compiled always confused me. ESPN shows Lloyd with 15 yds of total YAC for 2014 despite catching that 80 yd TD on the 45 yd line. Guess the stat man took the night off

Brandon Lloyd making the easy catches look difficult since 2003.

Brandon Lloyd had some mental issues, but he was still vastly underappreciated here by most -- and maybe even the team. He was signed to a 3 year / 12 m contract (if I remember), and many posters were disappointed by his first year performance and the reporting was that he was asked to take a paycut cause the patriots didn't believe his performance (and mental issues) were worth 4m/year; so he decided not to take it, and then probably didn't get any better offers cause every other team thought "if the pats don't want him, then there's something wrong" so he sat out a year.

It was obvious to me at the time that Lloyd was most definitely worth 4m/year; and in hindsight he'd have been a bargain.

Didn't he want to leave the NFL last year to start an acting career? I guess that didn't go too well.

Maybe now he is more fully motivated to actually maximize his athletic gifts. I was very happy to sign him a couple of years back, but it ended up that there was always something missing.
