Yup. The offense ran through Cooks and Amendola this game. No Gronk, Hogan was ineffective, RB's struggled with their speedy defense.

I wasn't anticipating this to be a Cooks game, given their two all-Pro corners. But Cooks had his way with Bouye. He made some great catches, particularly on the comeback route where he leaped and fought for the ball. The PI's were both legit and there was another one that wasn't called. People don't typically mention that Cooks is great at drawing PI's downfield. It doesn't show up in the stat sheet but those 40-50 yard penalties make a big impact.

Anyone who thinks those PI's were unwarranted is being dishonest.

So if elite corners get beat then we should ease up on Butler.

Cooks was beyond five yards, aj hit him several times and was blocking the route up. Grabbing on or hitting the receiver beyond five is pi case closed

Not even debatable. Pats would get flagged every time for that.

Pushing and shoving a receiver toward and over the OB line, and otherwise physically impeding the progress of the receiver toward the thrown ball, while the pass is in the air, without ever turning around to make a play on the ball - yeah, there's no question that's DPI.
Ya and most of fandom who hate the Pats question the call when in reality DPI is called whenever a DB sneezes on a receiver.

Well, including the post-season so far, Cooks has made 74 receptions for the Pats. He certainly wasn't wide-open with the ball securely tucked away before contact on all of those.

IIRC, a very frequent complaint about Cooks' game on this forum has been that he doesn't get enough separation for a guy with his speed.

There is another aspect that Cooks doesn't get enough credit for. He plays virtually every offensive snap and runs hard and far on many of them even when he is only a decoy.

Cooks in fact played nearly 93% of the 2017 regular season snaps - Hogan and Amendola were each around 50% and Dorsett around 30%.
