Tommy Curran mentioned Brady's Sportsman of the Year Sports Illustrated cover would be great. The picture with the long coat on walking around the sideline. I can't seem to find it. I do remember the picture though. Can anyone find it?
I think Fitzy agrees with you.

Tbh they should go massive. He's the GOAT. If Bob was going to splurge on anything, it should be this

I mean if the Pats weren't going to give him the opportunity for small minority stake and someone else did, why should he not pursue his business interests? Brady also has some influence in the Raiders front office and gets to be part of team building.

I get disliking that he's connected to another team, but the truth is, if it was a problem for the Pats franchise, they easily could have been the team to do this. They didn't want to. Neither of them owe each other. Brady gave enough to this franchise and Kraft paid him his contract. Now that it's over, they can make their own decisions.

I don't disagree with any of this and appreciate that you get my dislike for Brady having a financial stake/rooting interest in the Raiders after publicly declaring himself "A Patriot for life."

I think it's common for players and coaches to claim allegiance to all the teams they played for. Unless something soured them on one particular place.

As an example I just saw a meeting between Gruden and Desmond Watson their rookie DT and he was talking about carrying the weight of being a DT in Tampa (Sapp, McCoy, Vea). And he was talking like a lifetime Buc even though he went back to The Raiders. The fact he would go back to the Raiders a second time is similar evidence too.

If you want to dislike Brady for owning another team then that's your choice but I think you're asking a lot of players to stay that loyal and really just robbing yourself of enjoying whatever Tom still wants to give us if you don't just take him for his word that he's a lifetime Patriot and now also a Raider.

If you want to hold a grudge against Brady for owning another team then that's your choice but I think you're asking a lot of players to stay that loyal and really just robbing yourself of enjoying whatever Tom still wants to give us if you don't just take him for his word that he's a lifetime Patriot and now also a Raider.

WTF?! First, @ahmed accuses me of being "offended" and now I'm holding "a grudge"? You guys need to just go by what I post vs. whatever you want to read into it. I'm neither offended nor am I holding a grudge. Just pondering the inherently awkward disconnect between "I am a Patriot for life" and being a (rather small) minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. I don't like it as a Pats fan but won't be losing any sleep. Hell, maybe Brady will attend New England's season opener vs. Vegas wearing a half-Raider/half-Patriot jersey.

You said you dislike it I'm not trying to put words in your mouth. I'll go back and switch the word grudge to dislike. Relax.

better start camping out now if you wanna be there for the unveiling... i have a feeling the line will be long...

Amazing. They even made it 12 feet tall because his number is 12. LOL. Pretty cool. He's a legend who deserves every bit of the fanfare. Brady is synonymous with championships and winning for the Patriots.

This thread reminds me of my favorite story about statues.

Our oldest son did a semester in Florence Italy and was talking at dinner after he returned about how they have statues there of Michelangelo and Galileo that seemed as if they were pointing science and art at each other. They died 80 years apart around 1560 and 1640.

After he mentions this his mother says that she was in Florence when she was young and remembers the Michelangelo statue but not the one of Galileo.

Our sons then says, "when you were there Galileo probably hadn't died yet."
