...this line:

423-640 (66.1%), 5390 yds, 8.42 ypa, 41 td, 18 int

That would be, by any measure, an incredible season.

lol what

'07 was far and away the better season, followed by last year.

Current pace - 423-640 (66.1%), 5390 yds, 8.42 ypa, 41 td, 18 int
2007 - 398-578 (68.9%), 4,806 yds, 8.3 ypa, 50 td, 8 int
2010 - 324-492 (65.9%), 3,900 yds, 7.9 ypa, 36 td, 4 int

Maybe you should look at his stats. It would be his second best season, and arguably as good as 2007. Just depends on how you're evaluating it.

The td-int ratio isn't terribly pleasant to look at though.

I dont think you are putting enough weight into the TD/INT ratio. Yards are great and all but points and not turning it over are much more important. That said he is definitely, despite a higher number than normal of pics, having one heck of a season.

His best by what measure? YPA and total yards?

lol

I see his touchdown production staying the same or increasing, yardage and interception count decreasing.

Who cared about stats with no hardware but when you have the hardware to back it up stats are useful to break ties or just to put a barometer on the seasons that dont end with more hardware.

I find this comment and you arent the first to make it to be funny. You act as if we just said stats were for losers back then when really the argument was why does everyone think Peyton is better because of his stats when he kept losing to Tom. Now that Peyton has his own hardware I think we can look at the stats of both the guys to place them on a list with other great champions of the past. Using a combo of the two to create a list IE Mannings stats are so rediculous but he only has one yet he is high up on the all time greats or Bradshaw having 4 rings but not the stats and being a little lower on the lists.

But an even simpler answer would be we started caring when are guy started breaking records like crazy.

Brady was winning championships, past tense. Look, he's great, guys like him, Manning, and other elite QB's are going to put up impressive numbers.

That itself shouldn't blow us away anymore, it's expected of them. If Brady were winning titles and putting up these numbers, then we can all celebrate, gush over him, and start singing his praises.

Fact is, in the new impressive statistical Brady era, he has zero championships. This is a "what have you done for me lately sport", and Brady is basically mimicking Peyton Manning early in his career. That's not a total knock, Peyton was no slouch by any standards in his career.

I'm not suggesting this diminishes him, of course it doesn't. But I'm not sure it really builds that much to his legacy that what we've already come to know of Brady. There's nothing Brady does statistically at this point in his career that's going to build on to who he is. He's basically done it all in that category anyways.

He needs rings, bottom line. He's not won a ring in a very long time.

I think Brady is having a solid year, but definitely not his best year at all. I think some of you truly underestimate some of his years before 2007. I think 2006 is arguably one of his best years, when you consider who he had on the roster. That Brady almost took that team all the way, and that was not a very strong team.

Don't blame Brady. It's defense, defense, defense....

In 2005 and 2006, if Harrison plays in the playoffs they are winning one of those titles.

That Denver game still drives me nuts. 5 turnovers? C'mon.

You could make that same argument for Peyton early in his career as well. His defense wasn't exactly stellar.

I'm just saying, fair or foul, your legacy is define by championships. Brady already is without a doubt one of the greatest of all-time. I think top-5 for sure. Any stats he adds on doesn't change that. He's already ahead of Peyton because of his championships. Skill wise and production they're about a wash, but Brady has more hardware. Which separates him.

If Brady were to win another SB, or two, he could without a doubt go down as the best ever. Especially if he does it in dramatic fashion.

Moments forever define you in sports. When we look back on John Elway, we remember the infamous 98 yard drive. Montana's TD pass to Clark. Michael Jordan's shot over Russell to win the finals against the Jazz. I think Brady still needs one himself, and another ring to go down as the G.O.A.T.

He definitely still has the chance to do it.

When you add in the fact that Koppen has been injured most of the season, Vollmer missed a few games and was replaced by a rookie for those, and that Waters is brand spanking new, it makes these numbers even more incredible.

If the o line jells and plays better these last 7 games, especially in the running game, then Brady is going to finish with outstanding numbers.

He could concievably only throw one or two picks the rest of the year.
