Brady is wearing a helmet camera

What I like is that BB doesn't give a crap and is just trying out something new that might help the team, even at the cost of some embarrassment or ribbing from jackanapes.

BB is a Honey Badger

I'm sure this will cue an onslaught of Spygate jokes, but no matter.

The irony is that if the morons who will make said jokes just thought of Belichick's decision to have a guy on the sideline filming signals in plain view in the same light they would as sticking a camera on a QB's helmet - as in, as a manner of acquiring more knowledge that could be used to help the team - then both actions would seem rather innocuous.

The signal-filming was never some covert method of cheating; it was done in the open; it was always just more fact-gathering and scouting from Belichick.

You know when fans of a team like say the Jets make Spygate jokes about this, they should be saying "why aren't they doing it with our crappy QB who needs everything possible to fix him before he officially becomes a bust?".

If this helps Brady, Mallet, and Tebow fix some of their bad tendencies; who cares what jokes might be made?

Q: What do you call it when Eric Mangini or Mark Sanchez wears a helmet camera?

A: A colonoscopy.

The Pats are only copying the Bears who implemented this in their May rookie minicamp.

FWIW, here are a few comments from interviews prior to tonight's HoF ceremony regarding the helmet cam.

- Josh McDaniels on what he gets out of the cameras on the QBs' helmets: "Headaches" (Ben Volin)

- Brady said other players asked for him to wear camera because they want to see what he sees. (Nick Underhill)

- Brady said he's only wearing the helmet cams because others want that, but says he won't look at that film, not wanting to clutter his mind (Mike Giardi)

I also read that Brady said the QBs weren't using the film. Sounds like it's for the benefit of the receivers so that they can get on the same page as Brady.
