It's obvious Sean. There will be a new WR, either a vet or a 2nd round pick to compete with Jackson. And there will be a lot of new faces on defense. LB, DB, it'll be a massive turnover. The Back Eight will look different next year, a new starting ILB, a new starting CB, a new starting Safety and young guys as backups to be ready to replace the aging Harrison, Bruschi, etc, in a year.

We all knew this was a flawed team, it almost made it through regardless.
No legit #2 WR. No legit FS (unless the always hurt Wilson counts). No legit ILB next to Bruschi. No legit CB to replace Samuel. No legit depth at OLB behind Vrabel and Colvin (TBC sort of counted but he's a UFA - hopefully Woods surprises).
This offseason we HAVE TO upgrade at WR and get way younger on defense - with legit guys not just young names.

Definitely agree with everything you just said. I just want this team to go out and spend on defensive players good and great defensive players. This team cannot be competitive at this level forever and i would like to see some big powerful names in their on our aging defense.
I seriously want Briggs even though i know he costs a ton, i want Samuel back, would love Baker-Fletcher, Draft another LB somemore safeties and cornerbacks. I'll let the offense do whatever they like but defense is what i want to see spend money on.
Doesn't this team have a new face, new replacements, a new personality every year? - it's the Patriot's m-o It don't think the statement means anything more that that.
OT - you know what I like about Tom? He sounded just as beat and disappointed as us. He's never satisfied, that's why he's a winner.

Ditto, good reply gopher. Change is the constant in the FA/Salary Cap era, and the Pats have done what they do in large part by accepting the inevitability of change.
I'm sure I'll be roped into the discussion of what "needs" must be addressed at some point, but bear in mind the Pats' draft strategy centers around best value available, rather than addressing a specific need. Need comes into it, sure, but the Pats are disciplined about taking the player they believe has the most potential to contribute, rather than the one that "fills a need" regardless of overall value.
