Brady = Greatest of all time. Period.

The whole idea of "the greatest" is a little silly. Competition is different, the playing environment is different, the team makeups are different, even the rules are different. Besides, who has the authority to make the final determination?

Let's just say this: We have a very great quarterback at the helm and we'll be telling stories about him for the rest of our lives.

That guy named Tom Brady is one heck of a QB and his record speaks for itself.

Wow, I just realized I botched my quote and none of you mofos told me.

Aaron Rodgers: the NFL

Based on the evidence so far, he is the greatest to play the game. I know, you're probably not much into football statistics, you only want to watch the big games, but bear with me for a moment.

After four full seasons and parts of three others, Rodgers is the highest-rated QB ever by the NFL's method (a Byzantine formula that rates quarterbacks by a combination of statistics, including pass completion percentage, touchdowns, and passes-to-interceptions ratio), 7.7 points ahead of the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady and 9.2 ahead of the Indianapolis Colts’ Peyton Manning. His QB rating of 122 this year is the highest by any passer of all time.

Stick with me for another moment: Rodgers has thrown 132 career touchdown passes against just 38 interceptions, a ratio of 3.5 touchdowns per pick; his idol, Joe Montana, averaged just under two TDs for every interception (273/139).

Rodgers did not throw for the most yards of any passer in the league this year: that was New Orleans's Drew Brees, but that's only because Rodgers was able to put away most of the Green Bay Packers’ opponents with fewer passes. (The Packers are 15-1 this season and play the New York Giants in the second round of the playoffs today.)

Joe Montana is still the best QB; if Brady wins a fourth he will tie Montana.
Even after Brady's epic performance yesterday his TD/into ratio only started to get closer to Montana's post-season TD/into ratio:
- Montana 45 TD, 21 int in 23 playoff games, 95.6 QB rating.
- Brady 36 TD 17 int in 20 playoff games, 89 QB rating including last night.
Joe Montana is also 4-0 in Superbowls, and your memory is also incorrect. Just like Brady, Joe Montana won a few Superbowls in the early 1980's with no-name offensive players around him, and Montana came through with game-winning playoff touchdown passes multiple times, which Brady has yet to match (though he has the FG-winning drives on his record). 20 years from now fans similar to yourself may do the same to Brady where they claim Brady was surrounded by amazing players like Randy Moss, Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, Ridley/Vereen, etc and forget about the no-name offense the Patriots had in the early 2000's.

All the passing stats and records after 2004 in the Flag Football era are completely inflated. This past season almost a dozen QB's passed over 4000 yards while in the 1980's maybe one QB in the entire league would pass over 4000 yards in a season.

If Brady wins this SB and doesn't have a drastic drop off over the rest of his career he will be hands down the GOAT, not even close.

Stats change due to how the rules are created and enforced the measure of QB's is winning.

Well TFB has the highest winning % ever for NFL QB's (.780), behind him are R Staubach (.739) and J Montana (.713).

Brady is currently has 2nd most playoff wins @ 15, Montana has 16 wins, Brady has a higher winning % in the playoffs compared to Montana (.727 to.696). If we win the SB he will have moved to the #1 spot for all time playoff wins.

Brady has more regular season wins 124 to 117 for Montana.
So if Brady were to win another SB.

Brady is on track to be the greatest winner in the history of the NFL.

You could argue the case for Brady now another SB and it is case closed.

At his current rate in 2 seasons he could very well be #2 all time for wins behind Farve whose winning % is far lower than Bradys and who has a just above .534 winning % and fewer wins already.

I was completely pissed BB didn't let us go for the records....WTF!!!??? Doesn't make sense to me. But oh well, there's always next game....

Dude, the game was over and he had Brady BOMB one to Gronk the play before. It really makes no sense to me at all why he didn't have Brady pass it to Gronk (or anyone for that matter) in that situation.

Again, the win tromps all, but since this is a thread about Brady....

Seriously to say that Brady "needs" one more SB win to be considered as good or better than Montana has got to be one of the "dumbest" arguments for Montana one could make in this discussion and Montana was always my favorite player growing up.

Brady didn't "lose" his one SB because of poor play on his part. He had the lead and the Pats defense gave that game away and it took a miracle play to even beat them. That had nothing to do with what Brady did or didn't do. Brady played a good game and had his team in position to win. Also, that was the best Pats team to even go to a SB. It was the best team in NFL history, and I hate the fact that when that is discussed that team doesn't get mentioned as much, all because of one miracle play that stopped the one perfect 16 game season. Brady threw for 50 TD's and only 8 INT's that season for god sakes. It was the best offense ever from a scoring standpoint.

If Brady goes to another SB, that will be another SB appearance for Brady as well, and when I think of Brady and the SB, I think of 4SB's either way at this point even though they lost. He didn't have some horrible game where he **** the bed. He had the best season of all time for any QB in history, but for some reason they didn't win it.

I love Montana and all, but Brady has simply been better from a clutch perspective, a stats perspective, and started winning SB's earlier than Montana.
