Gronk = soon to be greatest TE of all time.

What a day, what a day.

Full stop.

I still don't like comparing different eras, but Brady best of his generation.

But the current gen is always > than previous gens.

Jim Brown would rush for 1200 yards in today's game. But Barry Sanders would rush for 8,000 yards in the 1950's NFL.

Yup

Joe Montana is still the best QB. Tom Brady will tie him if he wins a fourth Superbowl. But even then Montana was 4-0 in Superbowls. After tonight Brady might improve his post-season TD/int ratio but I'm not sure if it would surpass Montana there either.

All the passing stats and records after 2004 are completely inflated and must be seen from that context. In 2011 there were almost a dozen QB's with over 4000 passing yards, while in the 1980's one QB in the entire league might break 4000 yards in any season.

Based on one half of football? Did this game put him over the edge?

No but his increase in the number of outstanding games he's having leads me to believe he'll be up there no doubt.

Let's see his total body of work first

There is no period....

Montana is still the best QB I have ever seen play the game.

However,Brady is moving closer to the top of that mountain with another SB title should he get that.

come on people, Its Mark Sanchez.....:bricks:

In other news, we landed on the moon.

4-0 in Super Bowls is meaningless. Just win baby.

Montana is 4-3 in Championship games. I don't know why people credit Montana for losing championship games when compared to Brady. Brady is 4-1 in championship games, and should be undefeated in them!

ya but if TB wins another SB he will 4-0 in SBs also, 2001, 2003, 2004, and his next SB win . .. the fact that he is 0-1 in others SB should not be relevant . . . the fact that Montana only went to 4 SBs should not be a fact that he benefits from . . . just saying . . .

I don't really like the logic of "montana won 4 superbowls. He is the best i have ever seen."

Context has to be taken into these types of debates. The types of teams you are surrounded with AND coaching personnel matter a ton as well.

I will say this though, a few elite quarterbacks now can make throws that montana could not even make.

The one thing I will give Brady a solid edge over Montana is that Joe was able to keep his star players like Rice and Clark around without cap worries and constant roster change while Brady has been successful with all different players and talent over 10 years.

I think this is a wash for body brady and montana. If i recall, didn't montana take the chiefs to a championship game? Brady also took a ****ty squad to the championship game in 2006 (And should have won the SB with that team if not for that stupid ******* drop)/

Brady has played at a level no other QB or as great as any QB since 2007.. barring his recovery year.. He is head and shoulders a better, more dynamic player now than he was when he won his early SB's.

You cannot judge a QB solely on SB victories.. its ridiculous. The best teams win SB's. You can factor it in sure, but honestly to me its not the most important factor.

Montana played in a different era with lots of special player hof players around him.. maybe the best player of all time in Jerry Rice.

I know this is subjective but I think TB is the GOAT because of his heart and his will to over come what ever is thrown at him. And obviously he has great QB skills. His form.. the way he senses pressure.. his ability to quickly dissect defenses and his accuracy are the reasons to me why he is the best.

"You are now watching the throne, do not let Brady get in his zone"...

Dude is the goat. Just enjoy watching the greatest athlete since Jordan. Brady is special..
