Boston Globe: Bodden: Patriot "First and foremost"

My thoughts too, somewhere in the middle sounds reasonable.

yea it would be great to have bodden stay a patriot. He obviously wants to stay a Patriot so lets make it happen BB.

There's a hell of a lot of territory between $5 million and $8 million.

I think the bonus/guaranteed money will be the real negotiating point. Because average salary can be easily inflated with dummy years at the end of a contract. If we can get him signed around 7M average with reasonable bonus money and the option to say cut if necessary by year 2 without a huge cap hit, that would be ideal. I'm not sure yet how the lack of CBA will affect contracts though.

Yea yea yea... if he's offered closer to $8M per year or more he will be a _____ first and foremost whether it's a Patriot or what. He's going to get paid. If the # is closer to $5-6M I'd like to see him back.
