Hi all,

This question is for past and present Bostonians. I moved into Boston not too long ago and am curious what I can expect for this Sunday. I would like to go to one of the fenway bars but I also care about having being able to sit down and be close to a TV. At what point would I need to show up at the more known sports bars to be able to get a good spot? What can I expect from bars in Brighton like tavern in the square or that bar T's pub?

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

I'd imagine you'd have to show up hours beforehand to get a seat...especially if you want to sit lol. The game is at like 8 right? I'd get there around 5...

Find an old, out-of-the-way bar in Mattapan or something. The skankier the better. I was stuck in Boston during the Bruins and Lightning series and found a great hole with a really "down to earth" crowd. It was great and had a seat right at the bar. Avoid trendy places.

Nah man the kickoff is slated for ~ 6:30.

To the OP: I'd suggest calling the place and seeing what they suggest. The Fenway Bars and T.I.T.S. will all be jam packed for sure, probably with lots of college kids. Since so many of the college people in town aren't from around here, I'd definitely expect to get a mixed crowd.
