Bodden getting interest from others

Cromartie would be the #1 CB on quite a few teams, I don't even know how you can deny that.

Quite easily, actually. He wasn't even the #1 on the Chargers. The Chargers' #1 CB is Quentin Jammer.

Seriously, though. I'm starting to suspect you've gone off the deep end with this stuff.

Looks familiar, but I don't recall his previous team trying to dump him until he started trying to shoot his way out of town. But keep trying convince me Cromartie is the second coming of a football player.

Yes, you're right . . . the Chargers obviously wanted to be rid of Cromartie more than the Raiders wanted to be rid of Moss

Are you seriously comparing a senile Al Davis' decision making/talent evaluation to that of AJ Smith?

Heh. First of all, AJ Smith managed to dump two super bowl winning QBs (Eli and Brees) and pass on a third (Roethlisberger) for Rivers (who has choked in big games).

Second, no, I'm not saying that. But the Moss deal had nothing to do with talent evaluation.

The Jets traded a 3rd for young 25 yeard old CB who has a ton of raw skills/athleticism/playmaking ability and was one of the best CB's in the league in 07.

You apparently failed to notice that he's deathly afraid to tackle anyone. That's why the Chargers let him go. They play TACKLE football in the NFL. I can't wait for the first Green Beans game where Cromartie whiffs on another potential game-saving tackle and Braylon Edwards has a game-winning bomb bounce off his facemask.

Revis: Cromartie, you gotta tackle that guy!
Cromartie: Tackle? How do you do that?
Revis: Stop knocking up all these girls, wear a condom!
Cromartie: Condom? What are those?
Revis: :ugh:

Ummm.... You going to say that AJ Smith made the wrong decision to trade Eli Manning for Philip Rivers and picks that became Shawne Merriman and Nate Kaeding. Eli straight up for Rivers is clearly in the Chargers' favor.

Also, I don't know if Rivers chokes in big games. In the 2008 season, the Chargers lost to the Steelers, but Rivers threw for 308 yards and three TDs (with one INT). In the 2007, he performed pretty admirably against the Pats while playing with no ACL and LT being knocked out of the game in the first quarter.

Seriously, if you are going to argue that AJ Smith (who is general recognized as a superior talent evaluator) is a poor talent evaluator because he traded an above average QB in Manning for a close to elite QB in Rivers, a dominant pass rusher (at least for a couple of years) in Merriman, and a very good kicker then you don't have much of an argument.

So you're saying that comparing the Cromartie deal and the Moss deal would be like comparing apples to oranges?

Agreed.

Why do people equate not getting a deal done with not trying to get a deal done?

I don't understand how people want to call the Cromartie deal bad for the Jets. A 3rd rounder for a guy who has been a #1 CB in the past and will be an excellent #2 across from Revis in press coverage.

Cromartie is better than any CB currently on our roster. We traded a 3rd and a 5th for an old washed up Burgess who didn't really fit in the 3-4. The Jets traded a 3rd for young 25 yeard old CB who has a ton of raw skills/athleticism/playmaking ability and was one of the best CB's in the league in 07.

I mean seriously, be objective. Just b/c it's the Jets people want to say "oh hahha they traded for a terrible guy what a bunch of morons." People here are talking about giving up a 2nd for Richard Marshall. Really? You'd rather give up a 2nd round pick for Marshall than a conditional 3rd for Cromartie? The bias is unbelievable. In no way shape or form does trading a 3rd round pick in 2011 for Cro resemble the Redskins. They didn't sign him to a huge extension, the guy is very cheap for 2010 and a FA after the season, and the likelihood that a 3rd round pick is going to be better than Cro is SLIM. Hell we used a 2nd on Wheatley, and he's not even close to Cromartie.

Best post of the day sir! Cousins...think Wheatley as a second rounder (what!!!!!), think Hobbs as your starting CB in the Super Bowl (yikes!!!), think of some other losers at CB and we can't take a shot with a young (admittedly he needs to get it together) CB with a better skill set than any of those all added in and a BB special as in "on-the-cheap".

You don't think AC is an instant upgrade over Wilhite....Springs? Please don't think that.

Cromartie is going to be a stud with the jets. has something to prove. jets have a head and shoulder's better cb tandem than we do

Can Cromartie crash and burn sure, but the pressure is off him to be the #1 guy

capeleaguer RT @AlvinKeels: UFA corner Leigh Bodden will decide this afternoon on his order of visits. Lots of early interest.

the pressure will be on everyone in that organization......if things start badly, they will be at each others throats.....

a guy who has 7 kids with 5 women does not need a whole lot to prove.....

Thanks for stoppin by Leigh, it was nice having you too bad it was only for 16 1/4 games.

Not a good sign. Pats should have tried to lock him up while they had exclusive rights to talk to him even if it meant paying $1-2 million more

I'm sure if the front office felt the same way about his value, that he would not be going anywhere

Not much out there for FA CB's, so it will be interesting to see what the Pats have in mind

Rod Hood, CB, Titans UFA

Phillip Buchanon, CB, Lions UFA

Hood was horrible last year, he was signed and cut by 28 different teams last season in a span of a month. As for Phillip no thanks kinda tired of jags.
