Dillon had his worst season as a pro last year, outside of his last year in Cincy which was a fiasco.

He was nearly 400yds below his lowest previous rushing total, with a 3.5/carry average - well below his lowest effort of 3.9.

These numbers are facts - so explain just exactly how the media "portrayed" him incorrectly? He did run slower and shorter last year, there isn't any debate about it.

Dillon is very old for an NFL RB, that is another fact. He may have been slowed by injuries last year but injuries have NEVER prevented him from having a big season before, another fact.

Looking at these facts about Corey, how could it be possible to not to see a NFL RB who is in decline and likely very near the end of his career, let alone the days of high productivity?

I love the way Dillon runs when he is at the top of his game - his slashing and smashing style gave me many opportunities to scream in righteous satisfaction as Corey bolted 15yds then hammered some goon for 3yds more.

Supporting your team and wishing our players the best is also my way of being a fan. But that doesn't change the facts - Dillon's chances to ever have an impact season like 2004 are very, very low.

I love the modifier, "very." "Very" has no other purpose than to add layers and layers of emphasis without adding a substantive point. When I have a weak case, in fact, I like "very" even more.

31 is "oldish" for a back, not "very" old. He's a question mark, in terms of gettnig back from injury. I see lots of discussion about whether he gained some weight, but little about whether he can cut both left and right now - which makes me think he can. A 31 year old turning 32 can play like a 29 year old turning 30, depending on the individual.

I love the Maroney pick, but I'm nowhere near as certain that it's time to stick a fork in Corey quite yet. Give Maroney a clause in his contract assuming responsibility for surgery in the case of splinter-butt, and everybody's happy.

I don't think you see him supplant Corey, except if CD is injured - you see him get a few carries a game. Think DeShaun Foster in his first year behind Steven Davis.
