The thing that mars Parcells' legacy, to me, was his jumping around from team to team -- especially the reason he left the Pats. He guarantees he's done with coaching, then changes his mind multiple times.

You can pretty much understand his leaving the Giants for health concerns, but Bob Kraft says in the show that Parcells talked of quitting after each season in New England. So no wonder he hired personnel people above Parcells' head. Going to the Green Beans was a mistake, and going to Dallas was a BIG mistake.

One of the Krafts has said that's the reason Belichick can run the whole place but Parcells wasn't allowed to; they have confidence BB is looking out for the short and long term whereas BP had too much chance of trying to win now and to hell with the future.

Yes. And despite all his great character-building emphasis, supposed reverence for personal integrity, etc., etc., Parcells was weirdly hypocritical in the selfish way he ran his own career and threw entire organizations under the bus. Now that he's out of football he talks all contrite and nicey nice, but I don't think he has near the integrity BB has.

!@#$ Parcells. He was already set on quitting right before the Super Bowl played out. Makes you wonder if he was already resigned to the fact the Patriots would lose. Instead of keeping his mind on preparing for a Championship game, he was worried about getting a job (a lateral move at that) with a hated division rival. !@#$ Parcells. I hate watching him interview as a nice, aw shucks football lover. He wants so hard to rewrite history. Again, !@#$ Parcells.
