So, I saw this come across my feed on facebook and was very surprised when I read it..

Bill Belichick actually enjoys press conferences

"“I actually enjoy the press conferences because it’s the connection to the fans and that is really who I am talking to, is the fans,” Belichick said, via WEEI.com. “I am trying to give the fans information that I feel comfortable giving out. It’s not really about any one reporter."

Sorry Bill, love ya but you are lying your ass off.

I believe you thoroughly enjoy talking to fans about pertinent/fun subjects.

I don't believe you like talking to fans through the press.

“At the same time, if it’s not in the best interest of the team, I hope our fans understand that for me to say detailed information about every single thing I am asked, I have to try and balance that.”

But, Coach, no one wants you to give out "detailed information about every single thing I am asked," they just want you to do more than just grunt except for the handful of times every season when a reporter accidentally asks a question you actually decide is worth answering.

Yeah it sounds like lip service...

LOL, geez Bill, could you talk to us a little nicer?

I actually love his gruffy style.

I can identify with purposefully be a jerk with the media whores....I mean, hoards!

In general, I agree and like it as well when it comes to the media.
But, since most fans are at least as ill-informed as the media, he could do a better job of concealing his disdain for their abject stupidity and patiently answer a question that people might want to hear answered and that doesn't involve giving away any locker room secrets.

I'll volunteer to be BB's official fan correspondent and he can then ignore the "mostly" useless pres.

IDK I feel like he answers 95% of the questions he is asked. May not be what you were expecting to hear but he answers it and I dont mean just grunts or gives a non answer. Some of his answers are more detailed than others and occasionally he'll go off on a tangent answer. Not sure where this perception comes from that he doesn't answer questions. He does, he just doesn't like dumb questions and his tone is very direct which can come off as aggressive (I get told the same thing). But I fully believe there are some reporters he definitely hates

I have no idea why people get on him for his pressers. Let's keep it real : the coaches that "give answers" & "chat amicably" are usually unsuccessful losers that are out the door within years. Those that last don't really give the fans anything useful.

BB actually has more sound bites with his grunts and stares than all the other coaches combined. He is hilarious, smart, and knowledgeable. Beyond the fact that he is the best coach, he dominates the pressers as well. It forces the media to ask smarter questions or decide "it's worth the risk".

Love me some BB. All of it. Trades, drafts, moves, pressers, but most of all : winning. Give me wins. Who the hell cares about this rubbish they spew at the media ? Not me.

I actually think that's part of the charm of his pressers. He's not going to give anything away or get wrapped up in putting his two cents on the latest "hot takes". He's got a very sarcastic sense of humor, almost sardonic; a type of humor that plays well in New England, but probably not in other places where Rex Ryan is more relatable and Peyton is a laugh riot.

I DO think he enjoys it on some level, but more in the way you might enjoy trolling a telemarketer.

Jeebus, I'd hate to see him when he is doing something he detests.

.

He enjoys it like a sadistic dentist enjoys drilling on someone without novocaine. I'm happy he tells the gossip girls of the Boston press to get bent, but i don't have to listen to it.

On the rare occasions when he wants to stick it to them, it is hilarious, though.

I also don't need another "we're going to do our job" player interview either. Put Martellus Bennett on a tape loop and I'll listen over and over. With bacon.
