Biggest Concern Post-Moss: Bill O'Brien

How did I miss this epic failure of a thread?

Some times what you think will be your biggest concern really isn't one at all.

I know many jets fans were biggest worry about MNF who would be the punt returner with Jim Leonhard being out. Turns out that returning punts didn't really come up that often in the game.

brady has come full circle.........the offense now basically goes back to his beginning with the pats.......with branch and welker and 2 TE's......except it is much more dynamic now.......

The Brady-O'Brien combination is about 7 trillion years ahead of where it was last year. These two are clearly in the zone at the moment. It's quite rewarding to watch the evolution of a play-caller and putting his QB in position to do what he needs too.

BOB deserves a ton of credit. Last year was obviously not the smoothest of experiences, but he seems to have learned a lot of lessons from it and improved dramatically.

I used to hope Josh would get fired and come back to his old role, but now I'd rather keep BOB.

If the Pats were to loose again, and have a miserable offensive performance.. this thread will be resurrected in another form..

yeah i was in the same boat... but i just wonder if JmcD would have used the tight ends as effectively e.t.c BoB has done a fine job so far dousing everyone's fears that he couldn't adjust after half time

Randy "Decoy" Moss has not yet stepped on the field for the Titans halfway through the second quarter.

You have to wonder what is going on. What a trainwreck.

Sure it will. And people will be as wrong as they were after the Jets game.

I wonder if BOB was hamstrung by Moss. Or, if the O was as a whole. Those deep passes take too much time to develop especially when they are run every other play.

It's all good and with all the suck-ass head coaches out there I wonder if O'Brien is here beyond February 7th.

I am so happy that the Pats have finally put the play action pass into their repertoire after using it (to great advantage) maybe once a game for years. I can only say - what took so long? :bricks: But it's all good now. :singing:

I love the designed shovel pass to Woodhead. Quite the creative play. It was so great when he gained 50 yards on it. This is the type of thing that the coaching staff comes up with when it has extra time to prepare.

As for PF13 blaming the offense on Moss, it is no coincidence that the offensive yardage numbers, TD numbers, and Brady's QB rating all spiked up with Randy Moss on the team. With Moss gone, at best this offense will become what it was in 2003 (pre-Corey Dillon), where the offense will score somewhere around 380 total points for the year, making them an average offense.

Well since this thread has been revived. I think my take on the situation was absolutely correct.

BTW I am sticking with my 17-2 prediction from the beginning of the year. Brady is doing now what Brady does best without having to worry about Moss's ego.
