WR/PTP Thread

Meant to post this the past few days but been busy with work. Just woke up so ill get it out the way. Not finished with the names, I'll add a few more. Have to move a few guys around but almost everyone is in the right. neighborhood.

Boutte looks like a mini Chase at times but long term the picture isn't as clear as it was with previous #1. Recovering from two ankle surgeries can derail you short term when you depend on planting/cutting, exploding from off your feet. That's easily the biggest question mark with Boutte.
When hes on its easy to see a little Chase in his game. From his build (6/200) to play style (slightly upright runner that bounces off defenders with plus play speed & strength) to toughness with the ball in his hands. They jump out. Similarities are there but it remains to be seen if Boutte can capture that quickness/twitch, play speed post-surgery.

Almost ended up in Bama a few times. Most recently after the NIL deals struck but ended up staying at LSU. He's being taken care of there. Big time recruit from that area. Big name.

- very physical - won't go down easy, plays through contact on contested / tough catches, will block ... he gets involved.

- plus focus, tracking and body control. In the air, MOF, sideline. Very good awareness of where he's at and attention to detail. Big play ability. Makes it happen. 8 TD in 5 games last year I believe. Natural playmaker.

Strong hands. Natural hands although he will occasionally let a few hit his chest in tight situations.

Ability to make plays all three levels. Manufactured touches - can beat press. Once he gains more strength, hopefully recovers 100% by next year. He'll be a nightmare to press bc of his strength & speed. He can run straight by you and take the top off so pressing is only for the unafraid with NFL recovery speed & skills. Screens, motion, crossers, hitch, go, fade, he can do it all. Could improve on certain routes but he's a good r/r as it is rn. Elusive can make you miss. Run through weak arm tackles.

Turns into a RB with the ball in his hands. Plus acceleration and play speed. He runs as fast as he needs to.

He needs to recover 100%. Get stronger, weight is almost maxed but really polish off that body. Could in some other areas. Making certain routes his own. He's got some craftiness to him. Medicals could push him down depending on those surgeries.

This class has serious potential. Every class does but there's cycles to this. That said the next few WR/RB/TE classes could be special imo.

Potential for some big HWS guys in Tillman, Johnston, Demus. Those three are very intriguing imo. I think all three will be "names" next year. Too late to get into more detail rn but all three can play.

Everyone's probably heard of JSN by now. Elite short area quicks, COD, separation. He's going to be really good.

Make sure to check out Zay Flowers though. So smooth, such a good r/r, awareness & focus.

Wicks, Downs, Jarrett & Addison are all legit too. All have top 30-40 potential.

Dominating once again, nice list so far.

No one man can bring down Quentin Johnson. Lacks the speed to be megatron. Plays as big as he looks.

Boutte is a beast! Tracks the ball well. Size speed hands and separation. Already better than Jefferson was at lsu!

Ps: van of sc could be the surprise receiver in this draft that dominates, if rattler gets back on track.

I'm about 70% certain the Pats' main acquisition at WR will be Hunter Renfrow.

With Renfro’s off the table, we can always draft josh van of sc on day 3 to be our next slot dynamo.

They grow up so fast. Pacman Jones adopted him and he's well on his way. Good stuff. Feel old yet!!!!!

From a track history standpoint, not a lot to get excited about except Tre Tucker (and a few others below), who ran a 10.41 100m (no wind gauge) and supposedly a 4.29 40 laser. This little dude is my guy for the draft. Sauce got a lot reps against him in practice on purpose to prepare for speed guys.

Bruce Feldman: "Tucker clocked a 4.29 40, broad-jumped 10-10 and vertical-jumped 36 1/2 inches. He’s also very powerful for his size, squatting 600 pounds and doing 16 reps of 225 on the bench." Edit: also wrestled in HS which is part of why he went to UCin (Fickell wrestled as well).

Check out his nice catch against 1st Rnd (14th) draft pick Bal/Notre Dame's Kyle Hamilton (6'4" 220lbs - a dude who forced an Agholor fumble this year) at 4:21. Also had a solid block against him in this game (although there may have been a hold...)

-------

Not realistic since prob 1st rounders:

Obviously Boutte (10.97/21.25) but those surgeries...

Quentin Johnston - 6'10" High Jump my goodness

Others of note:

Tyler Harrell 10.56 -0.3, 10.37 +2.4, 20.83 - dude has been nonexistent but he's fast - Saban will let BB know what's what

Tyler Scott 10.7 in 11th grade - Tre Tucker's more productive teammate who just got an ankle injury

Jacob Cowing 10.71 - skinny

Kearis Jackson 10.74, 51'4" 12lb shot (state champ!!) - too many injuries

Luke Grimm 10.88

Winston Wright 10.97?

Edit: Jalin Hyatt 10.46

Edit: Jordan Addison 10.85 in 11th grade

Edit: Andrei Iosivas 10.8 (6.71 60m and 6'10" Indoor Jr yr in college)

Edit: Trey Palmer 10.42

Edit: Kaz Allen 10.44

Edit: Derius Davis 10.94 - although it looks like there's a 10.68 guessing hand time

I like watching Charlie jones of Purdue. Not the biggest, not the fastest, and not the best at 50-50 balls. But a guy that is always open and catches most everything.

Jalin Hyatt of Tennessee seems to be getting a lot of love after his 5 TDs against Bama i.e. appearing in 1st round of some mocks.

I really think they need to get both Tyler Scott and Tre Tucker from Cincinnati. Pats would have 3 of the fastest WRs in the NFL.

I like both tbh and thought of you earlier when they mentioned Marvin Harrison Jr hitting 23 mph in live game speed. He's a freak. 6'3 205 can push/pull 1200 lbs, contort his body to make tough rec look easy.

I'm all about adding more speed.

Dang that dude is fast! 10.46 100m in HS, and it looks like it.

I'd love to see this kid (Jalin Hyatt) on the Pats, but he's gonna get drafted pretty high. Seems like he's got his priorities right, too.

The WR position will be interesting bc after Q it's a toss up. Currently have Hyatt and Tillman fighting for WR2 with Rice and Addison very close.
