BGC 2018 DRAFT WR THREAD

Good question. I like where you're coming from. I go back and forth on Pettis. He was an elite PR, but I kept waiting for him to show the same skills as a receiver. I don't think he's very refined as a route runner, and he's got a wonky body type for a slot guy. I wouldn't take him with our first 5 picks, although I'd be very interested if he fell to our 6th rounder. I would suspect he goes in between then, however.

I've seen him most often projected as a mid-3rd, and he has apparently been making at least a few official visits.

However, IIRC, the prospects don't (or can't?) workout on official visits. So, with no Combine or pro day workouts, it seems to come down to arranging private workouts for teams to see him in action?

I have to wonder if a lack of pre-draft workouts ultimately begins to drop him down some, or even most, boards.

It's funny the size of this year' class is crazy & not getting talked about about. Not #1 guys but Cobbs, Tate, Ateman etc all had great 50/50 rates.

Brown has the genes that's for sure. Entire fam is super athletic. Father was a Mr universe, body builder type. Bro will be getting noticed next year.

I've actually been hearing his name grow closer to the 1st rd. I'd like to see more aggression on jump balls but he has the ability for sure. Really intriguing. I think he could be a great target on comebacks & crossers.

I think Adams goes a lot earlier then some believe too.
Brown with the Niners second wouldnt be awful.
I prefer defense in this spot assuming we picked a franchise signal caller before we make this selection.

I've routinely seen him projected to go in the 2nd - 4th. I don't think he will make it to the late rounds. He's intriguing though with his downfield speed and jump ball ability. Similar to Golladay, whom I vastly underrated last year (mea culpa to whomever asked me about his draft status; I thought he was a mediocre mid round pick, but he was very solid).

Equanimeous St. Brown - MockDraftable

I think he is a 2nd-4th round talent who was stuck on a team who ran the ball a lot due to a young qb. His career in college reminds me of enunwa who had similar issues.

Would Dante Pettis offer enough at WR and/or ST to warrant his selection as a punt return specialist?

He had 90 PR over four seasons at Washington with no season less than 16. Averaged 14.2 yds/punts with 9 PR TDs. Had no KRs at all.

Sat out the Combine and his pro day with an ankle injury. He said he wants to be certain that it's fully healed by the start of OTAs.

I like him a lot. Very crafty r/r, good hands & versatile.

If we take him with one of our first 4 picks I hope people realize he needs a year to develop. He will show flashes next year but the reward if all goes according to plan will be in 2019.

I should amend my statement about his route running. He didn't have a huge tree in the games I watched. He's solid with head fakes and quick cuts, though. When I said "refined," I probably should have said "diverse" or "multiple" instead. Think he tends to drift a bit and rounds off some breaks. I do think he's capable of getting open, but he's got some work to do to clean things up. Interesting guy, but I prefer a few other players first. I think he'll have a solid career though.

Deontez Alexander is a small school guy that could have gone D1/DII easy if not for staying close & helping his father after he got sick.

Almost 30% of his rec's were for TD'S. Tons of 25+ rec's. Aggressive blocker. 6'2/190 Runs sub 4.40.

Very gifted player that is a better person. Def kind of guy you want in your team & in your community.

those are crazy #'s. he had a good night sleep the night before.

His highlights show a decent understanding of leverage in his routes, too. Couldn't find much tape, but he runs his own YouTube channel and he looks like an actual receiver, not just a fast guy outrunning people. Obviously he's got a long way to go, but he's a legitimate prospect. Those numbers may help him sneak into the 7th.

I know they're both white but I think he compares very well to Adam Thielen.

Isiah Hennie

Small school product from Sacramento St. Waterbug type. Elecric in the open field. Shows + awareness setting up defenders. He shows a lot of football IQ & really impressed me.

Always worth paying attention to Matt Harmon on WRs who does the Reception Perception study.

Miller and Hamilton are two guys I’d really like for the Pats.
