Best 1-game wonder in Patriots history

A lot of good choices like Jon Vaughn, Brooks Benard, JR Redmond, etc

But how about Fred Coleman? I think he appeared in one game during the 2001 season in which he caught a huge 46 yard reception from Brady on third and three against the Jets. The reception set up a first-and-goal at the Jets four-yard line and NE scored two plays later on an Antowain Smith run.

It was a great catch and run by Coleman and everyone was saying "who is this guy?" It looked like we had a keeper but he was never heard from again.

We still appreciate the catch though Freddy. :rocker:

Anyone remember Scott Lockwood?
Yes! I was scanning the thread to see if anyone mentioned him. That finale somewhere circa 1991 where he had 125 yards rushing. Never heard from him before or since.

Imagine Heath Evans having that game in Miami in 2005, then disappearing...that's Scott Lockwood.

Regards,
Chris

Donald Hayes' first game in a Pats uniform at the Gillette opening against the squeelers. He had that nice catch and run down the sideline and we all proclaimed "we have our big target now!"

Derrick Cullors 1997 Wild Card playoff game against Miami.

I think it was '92- the season finale against the Dolphins. It was the same season that Jon Vaughn had that great game against the Jets IIRC. To me, Vaughn is not as good a one-game wonder, because he was a pretty good special teams player for a few years. Lockwood disappeared after that performance. In fact, for his entire career he had 162 yards.

Dave Thomas - 24 Dec 2006

More than half his career receiving yards in 1 game.

(hey, its tax season. in the spirit of looking for loopholes)

Mike Cloud - 80 Yards and 2 TDs in a shootout against the Titans.
