Why did Brady leave? Because BB told Kraft that BB was done. What did Brady tell kraft about his 2019 struggles? That there were are no talent on offense. Brady goes to Tampa and proves this point. Kraft and the rest of us have been underwhelmed by BB's skill position acquisition for a while. Kraft installs his puppet Mayo and determines that BB's treatment of Mac, lack of talent is the reason he played so poorly. After all, Mac went to the pro bowl as a rookie and has a 4.0 GPA. Kraft gut feeling is always correct he believes.
So to Mayo's comment about biggest need on the team, I think he was referring to a WRs. The Krafts want 4.0 GPA Mac as they now doubt BB's evaluations after watching Brady win the superbowl when he was supposed to be done.
