Belichick releases statement on Moss trade

Actually, we haven't won superbowls with less. We had a good defense when we won the superbowls. Now we don't have a good defense or offense.

you will be proven so wrong.

Curious, when did you become a fan? 2001 or 2003?

I have to agree. Its time for Bill to step down before Brady gets traded next. If that happens they will be losing me as a fan, I can promise you that.

You're out of your mind. They're not trading Randy because of his fricken age! Otherwise they would have traded Harrison or Bruschi before they retired. They're trading him because he's acting like a spoiled BABY. Brady won't do that, and it earned him a lucrative contract extension. Because he's a professional who handled his desire for more money with respect instead of playing games in the media.

....how 'bout losing you now. Last time I checked they extended Brady and made him the highest paid QB in the league.

When the Patriots traded Bledsoe I swore them off for a season. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I learned my lesson. One player is not above the team.

But Brady isnt going anywhere.

Glad you saw the error of your ways, but what a strange reaction when they were replacing him with a guy who won the super bowl the previous year

Here is BB's statement and in red is what he was really saying.

"Over the course of the past several months, I have spoken with Randy and his representative about Randy's place on our team and his future in football. They wanted a 4 year deal @ $10mil per year. LMAO! When you see cows fly over Gillette is when we will do that for a 33-34 year old receiver.

Consistent with my dealings with Randy from the day we acquired him through our conversation this morning, it has been honest, thoughtful and with great mutual respect. I told him to keep his freakin mouth shut and play football. He did for a while, but I guess a zebra does not change stripes.

"While I will keep private the details of internal conversations with players and staff, suffice it to say that many things were taken into consideration before making the trade. Like that stupid press conference thingy he did after the Bengals game. WTF was he thinking? Maybe he was just punching his ticket out of here- and it worked.

In this business, there are complex and often difficult decisions, but it is my responsibility to make them based on what I feel is best for our football team, in both the short term and long term. I'm too old to be putting up with this prima donna crap.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have coached Randy Moss and aside from facing him as an opponent, I wish him the very best for the remainder of his Hall of Fame career." If only I had a shut down corner or Rodney, he's be thinking Revis Island was Disney World.

OK, this was done in an attempt at humor.

Your attempt was good, and probably not far off from the truth.

Hey at least they have a bye week and they can work on this new offense wihout Moss.Baby steps.Your crazy if u think this team is gonna win the division with the defense being the way it is and the offense basically being like the defense now.

WOW. That is just... wow...

Maybe it's time to shut down the board for a while and let everyone take a shot and clear their heads. That is some world class overreaction there.

Sicilian, i am hoping we miss the playoffs and get a pick around 17-19.Its another wasted year.Brady will be 34 next year.

I wasn't sold on Brady and thought Bledsoe was better. I was actually happy when Buffalo crushed the Patriots in Bledsoe's first game there.

(I still think the Patriots could have won that first Superbowl if Bledsoe had been the starting QB)

I have heard it often here that I over-react and am a pessimist. That I had become a "spolied" fan. After reading the board today I say "eff you."

Read this thread....talk about spoiled. Holy moly!

You are just ten layers of crazy. You're letting your emotions dictate your opinions and it is UGLY.

But I'm done with you. Have the last word if you like, but I've learned one thing in life: You can't argue with someone who doesn't care if they make any sense.
