The 34th player is still a great pick, so is 68. These were effectively 1st and 2nd rounders for us in previous years."For where we were picking"...our entire advantage in picking 3rd in each round was spent on Maye (and I think most of us are pretty happy with him so far). But by doing that and not trading out, it meant that we were picking behind everyone else after that in trying to land a WR & LT at 35 and 68. This was evident as we tried to chase Buffalo and KC at the end of rounds 1 and 2 and couldn't make a deal to move up. If we'd had an extra 3rd rounder to spend on a move-up, it would have made a huge difference, but we didn't.
Once all the possible #1 WRs were off the board (except for Adonia Mitchell) by the 34th pick, we should have turned our attention to a developmental but talented LT like Patrick Paul.
