I'd rather Bill have made an effort to sign Jason Snelling, a big RB/FB from Al Groh's UVA,
who re-signed w/ Atlanta. And I've always liked the nasty-blocking & hard running of
LeRon McClain, who signed w/SD after 1 year in KC.
Don't get me wrong; I'm glad that there's a legit FB or 2, or 3, on the offseason roster.
At least Larsen can play ILB in a pinch & STs. But while Fiammetta was developing into
one of the best young FBs in the league, a couple of disconcerting injuries - concussion &
inner ear issues - have made him damged goods. But as long as his deal would be a one-year
vet minimum contract, then this is a Low-Risk/High-Reward signing.

Another player who also plays well on special teams. Slater, White, Koutovides, Cole, this guy and others. They say you win with good offense (added Lloyd, Gonzalez, Gallery, Stallworth, Fells), defense, and special teams. Well, if they do well on defense in the draft, combined with what they have already done, we should be very pumped about this offseason. Nobody in the league will have better special teams. We already have one of the best kickers and punters, but the rest of the special teams looks great too.

All I know is that he was released because of constant health issues, and the Cowboys liked him a lot.

Love this move, but in regards to your point.....i can't imagine they freed up nearly $7 mil in cap room for nothing.....;-) i smell something brewing, whether it's a welker extension or a big name trade

As much as I'd like to think that, I doubt they would spend the pick AND that much money to get a deal done...unless of course Webb pulls a Lloyd and wants to play for next to nothing. lol

Camp competition, may the best one or two win.

Kettani - Could actually be the short yardage back/RB type, still hasn't been cleared by the Navy to play.

Larsen - Position flexibility, decent receiver.

Fiammetta - Might be the best blocker, health may be an issue but not enough to prevent them from signing him.

Polite - Was a very good blocker at one point. Came in very late last year.

I like the fact that they'll finally have a real fullback or two on the roster (Evans looked the part but wasn't much of a blocker and ran with no power). This should help in the running game and help to keep Brady upright.

One thing no one has mentioned is this pretty much guarantees you will never see Hernandez in the backfield again, thankfully.

I see a ton of 2rb 2WR 1TE formations in the Pats future. Such a wonderful thing. Of course Hernandez and Gronk could be either of the WR's as well.
