JIm Nantz (crescendo): And now let's give the trophy to the one .. Bill Belichick!

Kraft gives the trophy to BB. BB doesn't want to deal with it, immediately gives it away before making it to microphone. He's not having it. He's like take that thing away from me. Not Done.
___

But yes he can, he can celebrate great plays, winning play.

Congrats to the Master of the game. Hope he could enjoy it for those few seconds . with this game becoming rapidly a distant past for this unique man..

A masterful game.

Contrast BB's reaction here to his reaction (lack thereof) after the go-ahead TD.

yep, scared of the hoodie (and Tommy as well of course..)

That was one situation where BB's presence was felt . before that Jags wanted to run down the clock to 2-min warning in the middle of what they though was the final drive of the half but then BB took the timeout (you could see some confusion in Jags players there for a sec.)

He's just winning these situational games, mind games in demonic fashion..

I was blown away that the Jags took a knee with 50 seconds and 2 time outs. Even in high school, I'd take a couple shots to see what we could do.

NE is the best prepared team, by far, any of us have ever seen.

Knowing BB he's already got Ernie looking at NFC Game
Knowing Bill Belichick and Ernie Adams they've been looking at both of the Vikings and the Eagles for a week now.

One of the main reasons NE had so many 4Q “comebacks“ is BBs uncanny understanding of game management (knowing his players, opp. players, both playbooks, clock etc etc). So what looks like a comeback is just part of BB philosophy . first take care of not losing the game yourself (in case the execution is off like it was yesterday or in SB for most parts of the games) and when the time comes try to win it. Minnesota yesterday was a good example of failing to understand this.

I feel he knows the exact second when he has to go more aggressive on defence, when he has to go more aggressive on offence, i feel he knows exactly how many quality rushes has each pass rusher on both sides of the ball (it is no coincidence Pats pass rush is most effective in 4Q and least effective by opponents) etc etc

He knows this game is combination of chess and boxing.

Pep Guardiola, best active soccer coach, who also has to deal w many star players buying in his system, explained to his players a simple philosophy: my job is to bring you to the penalty box . your job is to finish it.

Of course most of the credit by fans and media goes to the players making incredible, spectacular plays. But there is no coincidence that NE players are put in these positions for 17 years, no matter what the scoreboard shows..

Here a great video w Henry explaining Pep's soccer philosophy:

Agreed. That's why so many of these games are close. He gets his guys into position to play, in his words, great situational football. I expect SBII will be close, as well.
