BB sounds alarm for his coaching staff

To what, then, do you think BB was referring when, specifically talking about that series of plays, he says "We have to coach better."?
BB never really throws players under the bus saying they need to get a TD. He always puts the onus on the coaches. I am not saying he isnt looking at Josh to do better.I think Josh knows it too. But ultimately , players need to block and get a yard.

Please don't flame.

I'm wondering how much these coaching interviews and offers for guys like McD and Patricia are distractions for the gameplanning and focus.

I still think there should be a window when people can officially sit down and talk with potential candidates and players. Not before important playoff games. On one hand you have teams still contending and on the other, the lesser teams....well their season is already over and need to start rebuilding as soon as possible. It's a slippery slope really.
Agreed. If a team talks with a player from another team during the season in the NFL it's tampering, yet it's fair game for coaches? It's completely soured the college game as well. Coaches always preach accountability and "buying in", yet college coaches bail on their teams all the time before bowl season, hurting the kids and all they've worked for. I think there should be rules in place where coaching interviews only occur after the conclusion of the playoffs, but I guess that makes too much sense to actually implement.

I think there is a little overreaction here.

BB has said 384 times here, "We have to coach better".

Maybe it had some distraction. But BB and co. have a tendency to over coach at times. Last nite is no exception. Maybe they couldve been more patient with the running game like in the Denver game instead of trying to throw that much early.

They couldn't get anything up the middle going with the run game. If they designed more runs to the outside, maybe.

it was so obvious that we missed gronk. brady was hesitant to pull a trigger even in a clean pocket because our WRs were covered up(minus 2 nice drives). Gronk changes everything because he gets so much respect and attention. he frees up our WRs. it's like having a lethal 3pt shooter that opens up the lane in basketball.

last night really felt like the ravens game with little bit of denver game last year. just wasn't our day. it happens. if it happens again we won't win the SB this year. we are not good enough to win the SB with just our defense. we will be facing much better teams than texans.

I don't think BB needs the media to send messages to Josh.

This is what Curran thinks is the fundamental message Belichick is probably trying to communicate to the coaches and players

Curran: Patriots move on, but it's not all smiles in Foxboro

There will be a school of thought that this was a great outcome for the Patriots. They won and now Belichick has a magazine full of ammo to direct at his team. I wouldn’t go that far. That would insinuate that he didn’t have his team’s full attention before this game, that they didn’t put forth full effort. That wasn’t the case. This wasn’t lack of effort. It was getting made to feel uncomfortable and – but for the grace of a few chuck-and-duck prayers Brady threw up that were answered – putting together an offensive performance that absolutely would get them beat by most any team still in the playoffs other than Houston
