Chiefs could lose Gonzalez to free agency after this year.
He would look good with Brady throwing to him and we have some money.
thoughts

If we were to lose Graham that would be a great addition. And when i mean great i mean that would be better than Graham (for the short term anyway) given he's older and very much on his downside. The upside is still tremendous, team guy, catches everything his way, makes plays (some), could be valuable to guys learning like Thomas.

Thats a great addition.

But money might be a factor.

We don't need to overpay for a declining player whose reputation exceeds his production at this point. No, no and no.

I think that you may want to revisit the title of this thread.

we have the money but no..hes declining..will command a lot of money and someone will overpay..plus we dont need a receiving TE ..Watson and Thomas look good there. we need a guy who can block very well and accept the role

how much is Seau worth in cash? $1 million per year or less to get Beisel out of here

how much is Gonzalez? Will ask for A LOT if the Chiefs arent going to resign him..we have our receiving TEs..Gonzalez isnt really a great blocker.

OR..maybe, just maybe, he takes a market deal, but nothing over the top, in order to WIN a championship with New England?

I agree. I was merely saying that the patriots often pay for players that are supposedly "on the decline," and whose reputation exceeds his production.

Junior Seau is one. Harrison was another. Both were risks with their age. Both have come out huge for us.

But neither drew a lot of interest in FA. Gonzalez probably will.

If Graham decides to test free agency the best replacement is... Daniel Graham, playing for the TE franchise tender (about $4M I think). Cheaper, lower risk, and more effective than overpaying for the likes of Gonzalez.
