Awesome.

I hope shula lives long enough to watch it happen.

Admittedly my post was a post Patriots game, pre-Halloween drunken trolling but why delete it? A lot of Republican snow flakes on here
True, why delete it. It was inappropriate. You did admit you were hallucinatory. We would have forgiven you. Until you attempted to deflect the blame on others. Compounding the error.

Wait a minute....

I read all the papers, I listen to sports talk radio all day and surf pats fans message boards...this can't be right.

You mean to tell me this guy is actually good?
Well Asante Samuel, the guy with the all-time worst dropped interception in NFL history, said he does so. Must be right

I would bet you my entire house if you put a poll up right now on PatsFans.com asking "Does Belichick suck?" You wouldn't hit 50% on Yes.

I dunno man. There's a lot of hate for Bill here. I think it would depend on when you ask the question. Brady goes out and throws 5 TDs in a playoff game and you might get there. The I Hate Bill Fan Club is pretty vocal.

I personally think it's a matter of a vocal minority.

Also in my defense, I say everyone sucks and is the worst at their respective position at the slightest hint of inconvenience during gameday. I am not liable for what I say during a pats game and 2 hours after it

My favorite all-time George Halas quote:

"Never go to bed a loser. Look, you can have a session with your girlfriend. What's that last you? Twenty minutes, half an hour? Or you can go out and get stiff with the boys. A few hours, right? But to win a game in the National Football League! That lasts a whole week!"

You might be right. I think there's a lot of misguided folks who have no idea what it takes to coach in the NFL.

A lot of people here simply think the coaches don't do anything M-F and just ride the coattails of the players. What Tampa is going through right now underscores the importance of good coaching. There is zero chance Belichick would lose 5 of 6 games. Also, look at what Daboll has done with the NYG using the same players that Joe Judge coached...

Especially when he says "players win games" immediately after winning. It's easy to dismiss. In my mind, it's pretty clear that this guy is the best to ever do it in the FA era. Yes, he's a hard ass when it comes to negotiating. Yes, he's a Negative Nancy. ( LT calling him Doom, comparing Brady to Johnny Foxboro, many reports from alumni talking about how he rips them in film when they thought they played great.) Yes, he played the odds with Brady. I just don't see who, during his tenure here in NE, is a better coach. You can put him at the head table with any of the greats, across all pro sports.

One wonders how quickly Brady would have unraveled if he didn't have the competence of Belichick at his side all those years.

Brady is losing his mind down in Tampa.

Imagine if he was coached by Arians or Rex Ryan for 20 years.

For all the Shula backers, remember how enraged Marino used to get in the 1990s at his fellow Dolphins?

Looking at Brady and how enraged he gets (and it's a big part of his success to demand excellence from his supporting cast) I imagine him becoming a Marino if he was linked up with most of the incompetent schlubs in the NFL.

Then again the 2 best QBs I've ever seen both were fiery in that way, and my top 2 QBs will likely always be Brady and Marino.

Guy was such a whiny b*tch when it came to Bill in his final years.
Shula was/is an arrogant, elitist, hypocritical, insulting, douchebag.

The funny thing as a coach Shula cheated multiple times. Too many men in the huddle.....Signing a contract with MIA when he was coach of BAL...... Threatening to fire players unless they took painkillers....refusing to cover a field before a playoff game vs the Jets.

....although Shula's Steak House was pretty good. I'll give him that.

Yeah, when he says "it's a players game," he is being modest and does what a good leader is supposed to do. Even though he is 2nd in all time wins, he gave yesterday's game ball to Slates...

Also, is it me, or has BB lost some weight?

i think Brady needed Bill as much as Bill needed Brady. I think as Brady aged and felt he "had the answers to the test", his patience for Bill's style most assuredly waned. I feel that voices outside the locker room, family, now ex-wife, and retired players certainly influenced him. You don't need to listen to his bullchit, matched matched his own likely growing distaste for Bill's hardline style. We will never know for sure, but that's how I see it. I have felt for some time that he was becoming a less grumpy version of Marino, so I feel your take is spot on.

If so, it'd be because a lot of people who dump on him fold when you call them out on it, yet still post smack about him every chance they get.

Congratulations to Bill for achieving 325 wins in 440 games in comparison to Halas earning 324 victories in 497 games.

Bill may pass Shula on the overall wins record (347) but can he also pass him on regular season record of 328 (34 more wins)? He's going to need some good QB play.
