Battle of the Leaks: Kraft strikes back

Obviously Mayo is gonna get this first year on the house but my point is, if he's going to be weighed down with keeping everything the same (he apparently offered the Belichicks their jobs, and O'Brien maybe as well) and we're not going to hire a external GM and someone on staff now is simply going to take that role, at what point are we expecting for there to be changes in the results?

It sounds two me like the Krafts literally are gonna blame this all on Bills drafting and everything else is working as advertised.

If Mayo has to 6 win seasons he's gone. He won't be afforded the same leniency that fans gave Belichick.
Defense is good. Focus on QB, OL, and receivers. High draft picks and lots of cap space. I expect better than six wins.

Curran is the one who said the Colts game was the point of no return and confidently stated Mayo would be the next HC. Both of which turned out true.
I have no doubt he's getting inside info, I'm just saying he's compromised. The same people telling him they were firing Belichick are giving their rendition through this story. I listened to him and Zolak today and they were calling him out on his narrative.

There are finally good WRs available in FA. You have to come out with Pittman or Higgins, who are both better than anyone we've seen in the last 3 years.

They don't need OL at any position other than LT, assuming they sign Onwenu. But 2 tackles needed, one for LT and one swing tackle.

The ultimate nepo- hire that doesn't seem to bother anyone is none other than Jonathan "Lord Farquhar" Kraft.
He will erode any success by his presence and sticking his metal gauntlet clad fingers into situations that just don't need him involved.
What's the basis of your Jonathan hate?

What actually pisses me off is the Krafts making up their mind after the Germany game and leaked to Curran while the season was still going on. That I can't seem to get pass and makes the Krafts look messy to me. Actually disgusted by it. No way to treat this man who built the culture that sustained winning over two decades.
I agree kinda like the way Brady was treated.

It's hard for me to imagine a scenario where you fire Bill, keep everything else the same and move Mayo to HC and things just magically get better.

Does anyone really believe Bill was the problem? We know Bill the GM was the problem but keeping his system and his guys in place sans him is somehow gonna work?

Mayo is ****ed.
Perhaps, but a solid draft and the right FAs will help. Winning will fix a lot of problems.

So you think removing Bill and replacing him with Mayo will resolve the issue.

Cause that appears to be the change they're making
You either didn't read my post or you're deliberately trolling by misrepresenting what I said.

Read it again, perhaps a bit slower this time, and then please respond to what I actually said, not what you are imagining I said.

I see the Brady situation very different, BB called Brady bluff and it backfired on his face in someway. He also did not think Brady was capable of playing at the level he did in Tampa however. Brady was fed up working with the likes of Harry while weapons were there to be taken.

This PR **** ... nobody will win ... move forward.
Internal corrections just do them ... shut up about it.

Except what you said and what I said aren't the same thing.

Not sure why people feel like this is somehow ****ting on Bill. This is largely just setting the record straight on some negative ideas that have started to pop up based on recent reporting that mostly seemed to come from Bill’s camp with the purpose of making him look good by ****ting on the NE scouting operation…

Why not both!?
We deserve it.

Most of this tracks to me tbh. Bill was such a presence and ultimate final say in every bucket of the organization that it was way too hard to give anyone a fair evaluation without the caveat of "Bill got to make the decisions and I couldn't challenge him all that much". It's hard to know if the scouting and personnel department sucked when there were so many stories of Bill overruling them. It's hard to make an evaluation on BOB and Klemm when Bill is telling Klemm to coach the line a different way than he wants and is filling BOB's staff with guys BOB doesn't want.

It sounds like Kraft had two many scenarios of asking people "why is your part of the team not doing well" and he kept getting responses to the effect of "I didn't want it this way, but Belichick gets the final word and I didn't have a leg to stand on to disagree". So you had Bill running the organizationally too close to the vest (which makes sense when you realize we haven't had an official DC for years and last year didn't even have a real named OC). If there was one problem, you could blame one problem child and move on. But there were so many problems where the excuses were "ask Bill why he wanted it that way" that there was just nobody else to really blame anymore. And as things got worse, you had Bill saying uncharacteristic things like "well look at the past 20 years" when he got questioned. And in the end it just became untenable.
You hit the nail on the head

The Krafts appear to be like those who just wanted BB gone but actually had not idea what they wanted to replacement him. Very much like BB's own situation when Brady left and he was facing sticking with Stidham until a Cam becomes available.
They had Mayo under contract to be the next head coach.

It wasn't a question it was a statement in regards to the reports that the Patriots aren't hiring a new GM, that whoever was helping Bill would be making these decisions and that Mayo even offered his two sons to stay on I presumably their current roles along side O'Brien

So OBVIOUSLY if this is a real report and something the Patriots are intending to do, they believe that Bill is the problem.

There's no damn way replacing Bill as the GM/coach and keeping everything as status quo is gonna result in a better team.

Bill the GM was the problem but it's insanity if anyone actually believes Mayo is walking in those doors and is bringing better coaching.

No one believes that.

Part...of.....a...team.

Its a win win for the krafts and media. Team plays well - bill was holding themback. Team sucks - Bill's roster is holding them back
