The way i see it;
1. BB knows alot more than us about player evaluations. However, some of the "starters" in past years didnt work out for him. (starks,Bryant) Some of which were starters on other teams, but yet couldnt handle starting for the Pats.
2. The Pats have had a history of injuries at the CB position.
3. We would have more quality depth at the CB position if Hobbs was still here. Anyone saying that Richardson, Wheatley, and Wilhite are more proven than Hobbs are nuts. We simply can't say at this time who will end up being better. The same for Bodden. His history is shaky.
4. The only thing that was certain about Hobbs' future with this team, is that he wouldnt have been resigned for megabucks next year. Speculate about the trade all you want.
5. If the secondary is hit with its typical injuries, it could easily end up as shaky as last years secondary. We simply cant predict the future.
6. Yes, this aplies for all positions,,,,,,,except TE
The Hobbs haters can whine all they want about him, but they cannot question his effort, or toughness. He was atleast, an average CB, but that might turn out to be better than the rest of em. Springs is the only proven CB, and he has injury concerns, and is on the wrongside of 30. If everyone stays healthy, i think this years secondary should be much better, but based on the past, im nervous. I would feel much better had they NOT traded Hobbs.
and no cracks about spelling, or grammar. I havent slept in forever, and simply don't care
