As If the Injury Thing Couldn't Get Any Worse - #22 Hand in Cast

We're getting more of the dinged up injuries this year IMO.

The patriots have chosen to go with 6-8 safeties instead of using the 3 roster spots for depth at RB, OL and CB. It shouldn't be surprising that we are thin at those positions.

BTW, this is NOT second guessing. All of us had more backups than Belichick has chosen to keep on the 53 man roster.

It is interesting that the tradeoffs are so clear at this point.

Ridiculous. Injuries will catch up with this team all these other teams have not had the injuries that this team has had. Smh

That's not true, plenty of teams are being hit heavy with injuries. The injury rate for the league as a whole has been ridiculous this year.

I'm curious, which backups in particular do people regret the Patriots cutting? They've had chances post-injuries to re-sign Cadet, Fletcher and Gray. So...Jordan Devey, maybe?

Clearly this is just a one-week thing. Homage to Pierre Paul.

My point is that I would have had the backups PRE-injury, as we have had in then past.

We all discussed carrying 9 or 10 OL's because of the inexperience and injury issues on the OL. Belichick chose to go with 8 OL's.

We all thought that 5 corners was a really good idea. 4 has been fine for Belichick (with 6-8 safeties).

We all seemed OK with 5 RB/FB's. When Develin was injured, Belichick thought that 4 was plenty.

So, the issue for me is that we had opportunities before the final cuts, and perhaps much longer before, to plan for a roster with more depth at OL, CB and RB.

As far a scrap heap pickups, Belichick is by far the best in the league. Coleman has been an awesome pickup. Martin, Hicks and Bostic have been a fine pickups.

You clearly aint following other teams to say this. Look toward Bills, Chargers, 49ers, Packers, Steelers, Ravens should I go on? Trust me, Patriots had few so fare.. But same 2 groups have been hit ( CB and OL )

I am talking about the contending teams

Without those ppl down Steelers, Ravens, Packers AND 49ers would be contending.... Bills and Chargers startet the year as wildcard contenders. Cowboys was manys favorit in the NFC and they basicly lost the season when Romo / Bryant went down.

Would like you to list your "contender" teams.

Who is our strength and conditioning coach? He needs to be evaluated

Donkeys and bungles. The afc's very watered down this year. I hate having these injuries with little depth. I was worried about this in the secondary.

OK, but I'm asking are what "opportunities" you (and others) feel they erred by passing on. You've made it clear that you didn't like the choice of 53 they cut down to, so who would you have kept instead?

Literally the only RB, CB or OL I can think of who they cut who wasn't subsequently available after injuries struck is Devey. I could well be forgetting players, though, so I'd be curious to hear names.

Fair point. I really liked Darryl Roberts before he was IR'd. He was said to be healthy a few weeks ago, so I wonder if they might regret having placed him on IR. Also, they kept a roster spot for Brown even though he was never completely healed from his foot injury. Hindsight is always 20/20.
