SWEEEEEET !

I'll take your dots to insinuate you'd like there to be sarcasm there, but I don't get it.

Unger is a C/G.

And incidentally, the Pats are hosting a FA Centre today.

Actually Unger can play any of the 5 OL positions. I have him cemented in at #34; after OLB Clay Mathews and before CB Alphonso Smith.

However I am expecting Pittsburgh to gobble him up at #32.

Do you really think Unger can play OT in the NFL? I don't see it -- unless he has TE help at all times, I think every speed rusher is going to beat him like a rug.

How can the Pats and Dolphins both own pick #89 in the draft?

Slight of hand and smoke & mirrors!

Bakes781-90210 has corrected the error in his ways.

Carry on men!

I had to Google that. Seems like good music. (Trailer Park Love song deux)
You have to excuse me as I am closer to the age of
George "Machine Gun" Kelly than I am to Shotgun kelly!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.....

90210?

Anyway I think it's more important to see the team needs surrounding our day one picks.

90210?

Anyway I think it's more important to see the team needs surrounding our day one picks.

Question: 90210?
Answer: 781?

Yes, team needs surround the day one picks is quite important. It was a good idea to post your list (of the other AFC East teams). Especially if other teams need different things than Pats need. I am always happy when other teams will be drafting QB's or WR's or RB's in the first round as that leaves more defense players for NE to pick from later in the first round / early second. I recently went on a draft website (NFL draft countdown? or such) and looked at all 32 teams top 3 needs. Luckily only a few teams had CB as the number 1 need. Which (in my book) it would be either #1 or #2 for the Pats. So maybe there will still be one of the top 3 CB's on the board when Pats pick at # 23 or #34. But now NE just signed Springs - so I guess in my head a LB would be my #1 priority and CB or Safety #2 priority.

So that's TWO teams in our division alone with OLB needs, and all 3 teams have a need at linebacker. I'm thinking more and more that to be safe we need to take Barwin at #23, then wait for CB/S with our 2nd round pick. The additions of Springs and Sanders also reduces our secondary needs.

NY re-signed their RG, they may want some depth there, but both 2008 starters are signed.

Buffalo really wants another DE to pair with Schobel, Dennhey is good, but he's not that strong a rusher.

Bills to play waiting game for TE upgrade

For the second consecutive offseason, tight end looms among the Bills’ most significant areas of need.
-----
Although Buffalo's difficulty opening consistent holes for its running backs in 2008 makes quality run-blocking a valued trait in prospective tight ends, we hear that the team is prioritizing pass-catching ability.

Free-agency activity suggests Dolphins eyeing WR position in draft

All of this contributes heavily to the belief that wide receiver will emerge as the club's overarching No. 1 need in the draft. The club was burned by the acquisition of WR Ernest Wilford during free agency '08, and even though one busted signing won't make the Fins gun-shy about dipping into the free-agent WR well again, it has contributed to the priority of fixing that position before the '09 season kicks off.

Believe it: Jets comfortable with green cast of quarterbacks

Word we’re hearing is that the team genuinely believes Ratliff has real potential and that Clemens’ marginal results in limited career opportunities were at least partially the result of a porous offensive line that should be far stronger in ’09 than it was in ’07.

With the signing of Terrell Owens to Buffalo I think this puts an even greater emphasis on taller CBs within the division. Which puts the value of guys like Sean Smith and Darius Butler even higher in the eyes of Miami and the NYJets who have to face TO and Moss 4 times a year.

I would caution you not to fall in love with the notion that we will be drafting 4 players in the first 2 rounds. I see us trading at least one if not two of our 2nd rounders for picks in 2010.

03/22/09 - Jarron Gilbert, rSr/2009, San Jose State, 6-5, 288 (DS#8 DE)
San Jose State Pro day: Cal Poly wideout Ramses Barden is getting most of the media attention due to another solid peformance, but the word among scouts is that Spartans' defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert was the most impressive player at the San Jose State-Cal Poly-etc. Pro Day that occurred Friday. Twenty seven teams were represented at the workout, including head coaches Rex Ryan of the New York Jets and John Fox of the Carolina Panthers. Gilbert was the most impressive of the bunch, turning in a 4.76 40-yard dash at 6-5, 284 pounds. He also improved upon his already impressive Combine performances in the broad jump (10'7"), vertical (37"), short shuttle (4.40) and 3-cone (7.59). Typically, the collegiate coaches or scouts will put the players through the workouts. This workout was different, however, as Ryan took over the DL drills and worked Gilbert especially hard. Gilbert would seem to be a perfect fit in the Jets' 3-4 scheme at defensive end. The Jets will have plenty of competition in landing Gilbert's services, however, as he's lined up several private workouts already, including: Detroit, Dallas, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, San Diego, and Atlanta. - Rob Rang, The SportsXchange, NFLDraftScout.com
