We don't know what was being offered and we don't know what Moss is looking for. Every player has a maximum price that a team can afford to pay a player, any player.

You make your statement as if it is fact and that the Patriots should break all the rules that have guided them just to sign Moss. Just an FYI Bro...Moss does't exactly have a solid history of TEAM play to invest millions of $$'s in. He is absolutely a HUGE talent and a HUGE risk at the same time.

So, if the Pats DON'T sign Moss, it won't just be homers who agree with the move. BTW...how many TD catches did he have in the playoffs?

If we don't re-sign Moss it's because he's GLASS, and too damned expensive glass at that.

We've won and lost Superbowls with and without Randy. We will again. Offense may not be as prolific in the regular season if he goes, which will seriously impact the ADHD bandwaggon video game generation fans, but it didn't win us homers another championship either.

I will start now for you.
Teams(including the Pats) have been able to win the SB without Randy.
Colts fans were right much to my chagrin,but a mega high powered offense means little come playoff time.
I am glad BB & SP are holding the line and not panicking like many here are.
Not winning the SB is bad!
Not winning the SB and being in cap hell is far worse!!!

IMO, the Patriots took a flyer on Moss and hoped he'd come in and give them something.

Fact of the matter is he performed way, WAY above what could have been hoped for and now he's out of their price range, they got him on the cheap, but he is not going to stay on the cheap.

IF they don't sign him, we'll hear all the crap about he's on the downside of his career, whatever team signed him payed WAY too much for his services, he did squat in the playoffs, blah, blah, blah.

I know we're only two days into free agency, but the Patriots motto this year appears to be "Don't just do something, stand there". So far, they've lost or cut loose their blocking tight end, a one time starting safety with loads of upside, a starting corner, a back up corner and a starting linebacker and retained a long snapper, a linebacker on the back nine and two special teams players. Excuse me if I'm not doing fvkcing cartwheels of joy over those moves.

We'll see how things settle out, but if any of you are banking on a strong draft, look no further than last years absolute debacle, one player out of that bunch stuck with the team and he has hands of stone..............

We can win SB's without guaranteeing Moss $18M or whatever he wants. We will NEVER know what it would have taken for Moss to choose the patriots, unless we sign him (then we'll know what it took).

We took a ONE-YEAR flyer. We weren't willing to break the bank on a long-term deal THEN or NOW.

IMO, Belichick just doesn't believe that a WR is worth that kind of money, a left tackle maybe, but not a WR.
