Apparently Welker no slouch

I have no problem with Revis calling them slouches based on their current level of play. They're not the receivers they used to be, it's simple. And if they don't want to be slouches, don't give up so damn easily. Slouch as Revis used it isn't based on talent, or historical production it's based on giving 100% of your effort on every play. And TO and Randy don't do that.

dont think he said on current level of play. it was just an open question. regardless we both are entitled to our opinions. moss took plays off but every WR does that. no WR is running full speed on every play when he knows the ball isnt coming to him but not every receiver has the cameras and media spotlight on them either. Revis was outstanding last yr but it was 1 yr,playing on a defense which had the abliity to pressure the QB. As bb says ,coverage and pressure go hand in hand so he alone isnt responsible for his own success. He may turn out to be the next deion sanders but he isnt now yet after 1 yr. Moss/TO have done it for yrs . He plays the same way Ty Law used to play which was great but if the refs start calling it closely considering how the rules have changed he can be a candidate of illegal contact frequently.Fortunately he has a +ve reputation which helps him WRT to refs.

It isn't just about running full speed on every play, though that would help. Even if a guy isn't a primary read, due to the way defenses line up, the routes can change and suddenly he is the primary read. Or there's a breakdown on the line and suddenly there's a scramble drill but someone's not paying attention because they were the third read. Or the pass is near them and they half-heartedly block that could have gotten us an extra 5 yards.

There are plenty of receivers who don't run at full speed all the time, you're right. But there are plenty of receivers who do, who help the team even when they're not getting the ball.
