I have a couple of friends and co-workers that are a combo of Giants and Jets fans.....we have had our share of going back and forth and they both were gloating a couple of weeks ago and now I go to say anything to them and all they have to say is "at least we don't have to cheat to win".....I tell them are you serious.....Are you really going there again......I normally just turn and walk away because it is so ******ed how they won't let the whole spygate crap go when there teams are losing......Maybe that's why they say it though because they know it will end the conversation and save them the embarrassment of there team.......

My old roomate and best friend is a Giants fan. He gave me crap about it right after the Super Bowl but hasn't really taken jabs at me since then. He actually likes the Pats and likes to watch them play. Anyway, when they started out 5-0, he was telling me how the Giants had no weaknesses and were going to win the Super Bowl again. I told him that, as long as their pass rush kept up, they didn't have any weaknesses. However, if their pass rush disappeared, he would very quickly see that their secondary is a major weakness. He laughed. Four weeks later, here we are.

So I ask you guys: should I start taking some pot shots at him or should I just let him wallow in his own misery?

Take the high road; taking pot shots will be similar to a low-level Jets fan who rubs it in during any Pats loss but scurries away when the Jesters eventually go down.

I work with one and only one.....I'll be nice....Giants fan. Every week he stills brings up how they beat us in the SB. When they were 5-0; it was a given they were going to win it again this year. I told him; they were the greatest team of all time and should win it all to shut him up.

The last 4 weeks not a F word from him. Won't even look me in the eyes. I smile and say Morning and I know its eaten at him. My time is more important than arguing with him but it is interesting how ....
some people can dish it out but sure can't take it.

I'm happy to say there are no Rats fans at my work!

I work with a Rats fan. Like most Rats fans every September he feels like he's going to the Superbowl. This year (like last year) there was talk of the Jets/Giants superbowl.

I actually ran into him at the stadium last November when they beat our 3rd string (by the skin of their teeth). Didn't shut up for weeks. At that game he had his #4 jersey on. This year I suspect he will have his little green #6 jersey on. (hall of fame bound in september....bench bound in december)

I actually feel sorry for him.

yeah, it's a problem, tho. i travel a lot and i don't get into very many conversations about the nfl and the patriots that doesn't eventually end up at Spygate. Sometimes, the person turns out to be a hater, whom I just ignore. Most times, tho, they are sincere folks whose minds were poisoned by the non-stop, negative coverage on ESPN and SI; "I've always wanted to ask a Patriots fan this question, do you really think that the cheating helped them win their Super Bowls?" It's not asked in a hostile tone but just shows how bad the Spygate damage was to the reputation of the team. These people are universally surprised when I explain the facts from an honest perspective to them.

I'm surrounded by them. Over my years in the Apple, I've learned to make a distinction between Giants' and Jets' fans. Giants fans, reflecting the ownership and tradition of the team, tend to be knowledgeable, reasonable and even classy (though just a bit obnoxious after beating us in the SB--though who can blame them, they were two TD dogs and pulled off the upset). The Jets fans are rude, usually drunk, generally ignorant of the game and did I say usually drunk?

Can you blame them?

Quick update, talked to my Jest co-worker today, catching up on last weeks games and talking about the Pats/Colts game. He said he would be happy if the Jest won 8 games this year. My how things have changed since there SuperBowl win in week 2...

I have told everyone that brings up spygate this and I will say it now.....I played football collegiately and we were in the 2nd round of the playoffs......Our backup QB was able to pick up every single sign and play the other team was running from the coaches of the other teams relaying the plays on the field......He stood next to our defense coordinator the entire game and told him "EXACTLY" which play was coming and they still ran the play.....Long story short we lost 42-14......Yes we were undefeated coming into that game and gave up 42 points to a team when we knew exactly what plays they were going to run.....You may say that we didn't have film to study or prepare, BS......Listen again we knew "EXACTLY" what play they were running and couldn't stop it.........I know that college is a little different from the pro's but you still have to line up and play and if you execute better than the other team it doesn't matter if they knew what you were running you will win the game......I think the whole spygate thing is a load of crap anyways because every team has there "ways" of "spying" on the other team and it comes down to execution......The pats executed better and therefore they won......Plain and simple

Luckily, I don't have to work with any NY fans. I have enough trouble with the Titan fans.

Quick history;
I voted to bring the team here, and went to many of the home games up until a couple of years ago. I pulled for em, and supported the home team, while maintaining my love of the Pats. After the Rodney vs. Bulluck crap in the media, and then spygate, things have gotten ugly. I want nothing to do with that team, or their fans. Some of these people were even good friends of mine, but their constant hatred towards the Pats, and their ignorance about spygate led me to push them away. Even when their team was 0-6, i never said a bad thing about them. Yet for some reason, even at 0-6, they would bring up "tainted SBs".....Ive had it with dumb football fans. Friends, or not, they can gft
