Just wondering if anyone on this entire board would like to give some credit to Russell Wilson, who for my money is the second best quarterback in the NFL and will take the torch from Brady one day. I go to opponents message board the day after Brady torches them and see the same thing...looking for heads to roll, looking for the defensive to be completely rebuilt, etc. etc.

When Wilson brings his A-game, few can stop him, just like Brady. Let's not act like the sky is falling after getting shredded by a guy who will eventually be remembered as an all-time great and likely the best QB of his generation (the generation after Brady.) If you haven't come around to the idea that Wilson is a stud with amazing decision making and isn't just a game manager, then aren't paying attention.

Wilson played really well, and was incredibly accurate.

All of which doesn't matter to most of the forum the other teams never win, the patriots only lose.

I wonder how many of the athletic-mobile QBs would have fared if they had Wilsons sense on when/how to escape without taking the crunching hits that can limit your career. Then again Wilson has the complete game and makes good decisions.

Nothing to not like about the kid's ability and he's finally getting healthier.

He looked great last night. I don't know about second best QB in the NFL, but he's top 5 without question. Get miffed at the defense, and with good reason, but he dropped some dimes that were just impossible to defend. And he's great at avoiding the pass rush, so even putting pressure on him is no guarantee.

Russell Wilson Career Game Log vs. Patriots | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Random thought but Russell Wilson has to be the most successful QB of all time vs. Belichick? (Disregarding Eli SBs. More based on statistical output)

He's managed to keep P. Manning below his career averages & Roethlisberger right at his career averages. Flacco is slightly above his career averages.

Wilson is one all-time Butler play away from tearing BB to shreds. He still has 8 TDs to 1 INT with 300 ypg.

----------------------------------------

Keep it short: We're freaking out about the defense and rightfully so but maybe BB has met his match: A mobile QB who's approaching elite status as a pocket passer. Contain does nothing vs. Wilson.

BB's kryptonite.

He would have made most defenses look just as silly with the way he played last night. He seems to be getting healthy, and it looks like I chose the right NFC team in my preseason predictions. I don't think anyone in that conference will stop them this year.

According to some people's logic on here he's an average QB

No question he played great last night.

He's great, why would anyone dispute that?

Regarding last night? He was good, as was Landry Jones and Tanehill and so on and so on against this defense.

He played great? Really people? I saw him miss some easy throws and take an intentional grounding against a Swiss cheese D. His injury clearly limited him in some ways, but man...it's not like he went up against a great D. Buffalo made him work the week before.

This was a cakewalk and due to that, I don't think he played that great. He's is a great QB, just not last night. He should have dropped 45 easily. The Pats were begging him to.

as was Landry Jones

Ya he was real good with that 5.85 AVG per attempt and that was with Brown turning an 8 yard pass into a 50 yard pass. 5.85 is Osweiler level.

Yes and no. I saw the d line break contain so many times with stunts up the middle. Im more pissed at this than the 2 turnovers. I don't understand why we did so much of that.

wilson is a top 5 QB

he toyed with our garbage defense. made BB/patricia look like ******s. (no offense )

He's incredible. No hate on Wilson, hate his team more

Wilson's a fine quarterback, but:

Wilson's not the second best QB in the NFL
Wilson's success last night was as much a product of ****ty defense as it was a product of Russell Wilson.

I gotta hand it to the kid, he really threaded the needle a few times. There were a few plays where a defender was actually on the same side of the field as the receiver!

Russell Wilson was good, but if you replace him with Tyrod Tylor on the Seahawks then i think the results would be very similar. The Patriots D have no speed edge rushers, that can pressure the QB when they drop 8 in coverage.

Russell Wilson was hitting wide open guys, he's good but he didn't make any plays i wouldn't expect a top 20 QB to make.
