I am only 26 and unfortunately lost my father last night....very....empty feeling and still don't believe it..

Anyone here lose a close family member at a young age?

Sorry for the depressing post. just need to post somewhere/talk

BtoM, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart beaks for you.

I moved your thread to the "In Memoriam" forum. This is a great place with many posters who are, or have been in your situation. I find that the folks here have been so supportive and heartfelt to those who have posted.

As you look at some of the other threads in this forum, you will understand what I am talking about. We are all here on this earth for a short time and need to cherish each other. This forum is a place, I hope, where you will find comfort.

****BTW, if you'd prefer the thread be also in the Pub Forum, let me know and I can move it back there. Or You can post it again in the Pub if you'd like it to be in both places. It's perfectly fine if you'd like that.

No you can leave it here. Didn't even see this part. Thank you.

Sorry for your loss B2M, and I will have you in my prayers

26 is too young of an age to lose a parent.

Thanks man. My father lost his dad at age 19. I am just trying to be positive and be thankful i had 26 years to know and love my dad.

Life really is too short and it sucks that tragedies like this really hammer this home...but take nothing for granted with any loved ones

amen to that, unfortunately, some people learn that too late. Can i ask a personal question, on what happened?

We had our private get together today...no service..just friends and family. Went by good. Some good laughs with family.

Just so strange he is never coming back through that door..i know in time it will get easier and there will be days i may get mad at him for leaving me at a young age but it's to be expected

I am just trying to be strong for my mother..like he would be if say i was the one to pass. I know one day i will see him again (hopefully a long time for my sake )

Its all about Mom now, the first of everything is going to be tough,, there will be time(s) you will break down just thinking of him

God bless bro, be strong for your mom

I can remember after my dad passed away, it was about two weeks after, was driving home, and something over came me, it happens

I can't really help as far as the topic of this post, but please accept my condolances brother. Take care and lean on your family, the community here, or just about anyone you feel comfortable talking to. Don't be to proud to reach out.

Take care of yourself my friend.

Thank you for the kind words guys. Really appreciate it.

Terribly sorry for this horrible news, BTM.

I too, lost my dad last year at this time (Feb 4th), and my only brother a couple years ago--so I can relate to both.

It isn't going to get much easier for awhile, but all you can do is hang in there. Sorry again, dude. That's terrible to hear.

Very sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear of your loss. MrP's father died when he was a teenager. I was fortunate enough to have both of my parents for a long time. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts. It is a rough time for you all, I know.

I lost both parents before I was 35, over 30 years ago now.. there is not a day that goes by that I do not think about them, and some of the questions I wished I had asked to help fill in the blanks on my family history.

I get angry when I hear things like, "My mother is a pain in the ass" or "My stupid father" other such quotes, my advice is talk and listen to them while enjoying them..

You do not know what you got till its gone..

I have heard that from people just out and about..and i now get mad as well. It has changed me so much. Not to get mad at people anymore...life is so fragile...anyone can go at anytime. It sucks but it's life...

You wake up everyday thinking life will be the same the next day...but sometimes it changes like that.
