There are numerous articles on the internet about the Jets options after Revis's altercation, with most of them concluding he will be cut.

Lost in a few the articles are the fact that Revis was planning to work harder than ever this offseason and had offered to take a pay cut, switch positions if necessary, and do whatever is necessary to stay in the league and not go out put as a washed up player.

Hmmmmm....

You know Revis has a huge ego and will feel like the Jets anandoned him, hanging him out to dry and leaving his HoF chances in jeopardy.

Defensive backs are expensive. It is easy to say "Revis sucks" or can't play corner anymore due to his age (though part of his poor play was from injuries, too.) I am skeptical he could just "play safety". But what about a one year deal in the $3-4M range where he could play, say, 25 snaps a game, maybe as a third-down or red zone specialist. I think if anything he was overused in NY and couldn't possibly cover number one corners the entire game with little safety help. But what about in a reduced role as a situational player who will be rested and playing with a chip on his shoulder? If the Jets cut him, you know he would like nothing more than to stick it to that organization. And remember Belichick's philosophy: buy low. The question is if Revis really has anything left. Let's not pretend that we really know for sure what's happened to his play for the last year and whether or not he is truly just cooked.

Confident to vote "no".

I am not confident enough in my own case to argue that.

Just sayin'....

I don't even know....just bored and coming down from my Super Bowl ecstasy (state of mind.)

Revis is utter dogshit. So no thanks.

"What the hell is Belichick doing giving McCourty a $50m deal and letting Revis walk. It's gonna be back to '11-'12 with Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan"

Hell, people were bashing the defense this season, despite being the #1 scoring defense, and much better than the 2014 defense.

Revis has declined but I don't think you can put all of his poor play on him. The Jets D has significantly declined since Rex left.

Revis wants to get paid, though, I don't think he'd get that here. But I do think he'd perform better on our D than the Jets'.

Is that why Revis was gaining all that weight, so he could look like Rex?

Revis couldn't give it his all when he was making 16 million a season, it's really hard to see him giving it his all at vet minimum,

Not this again. This year's Jets D was only half a point per game worse than Rex's last season in 2014, and the 2015 Jets D was 5.5 ppg better and lower than any defense Rex has had since 2010 with either NY or Buffalo (where he inherited a nasty D and immediately screwed that up).

Rex makes defenses worse, not better.

Anyway, Revis is fried because he's lazy and can't get by on pure talent anymore. Hard pass.

Absolutely not. He's not good enough to justify the kind of money he'd want. And, more importantly, he doesn't have the desire anymore. We don't need an overpaid fat hasbeen hanging around just to go through the motions.

Well, I don't care what anyone here thinks. As long as BB doesn't entertain that train of thought I am happy.

Not with Multiple assault charges.. That's been the one COMMON item between guys like Kenyatta Jones, Danny Baugher, Willie Andrews, Aaron Hernandez.. Once you commit violence against another person, the Pats cut ties as quickly as they can.
