Any word on the Meriweather injury?

Harrison, Sanders and Lynch would be the slowest safeties in the history of the NFL I think. But, slow or not, getting Lynch would mean more. Still it didn't look like a season ender.

very true
let's hope meriweather is okay, i really had very high hopes for him this yr
as for lynch, i thought he looked pretty terrible today

Decapitation and immolation.....

He's day to day

if hes hurt and out its going to be a blow 2 an already slow defense, meriweather just might be the the best playmaker out of all the db's.

Basically PUP Physically Unable to Perform......It means one is NOT READY for the season for training camp due to an injury..an injury NOT in camp...which is why once in camp and at a practice PUP is unavailable. many many years ago, they had different rules of PUP..IR..
Burton's comment was a bit odd...I mean doesn't it mean if one is limping at all it's not good?? He seemed to imply the way he limped or some of characteristic of how he saw him meant that his condition was not good. More in a somber tone. But really..it's grasping at straws at this point and I think all hope he will be back soon.
What it also means is Spann might see a ton of work at safety and could make the team there..he isn't slow.

Meriweather just made an interception in Madden 2009. Looks like he's ok.

If you watch the play, he pulled up as he was coming up from his safety spot to the play. He never was touched. It looked like it was either a cramp (it was pretty hot and humid there last night) or a hammy.

I hope it's not so bad..a season ender could make the safety position thin..not a good way to start a season...

Dear god let it be a cramp. I had thought he got shooken up when he laid a hit on Dunn, but if that's not the case, that's more worrisome...bone related injuries heal faster than muscle related injuries. Damn, Meriweather is pretty high up on my list of players I'd hate to lose for any stretch of time.

Really? Thought Lynch looked good for being there one week and not slow to. What were you watching?
But as they say, Merriweather was just about to "get it". Let's hope for the best an Lynch did not look bad.
All in all, missed tackles.

Did you see Lynch in terms of body?

He looked lean and mean, strong and fit like he was 25 again,Lets hope he has some speed left as well,I bet he never stopped training hard even after the Broncos dumped him

Let's not get carried away.....he looks good, will be a great addition...but he will still get outrun by top WR's.

It looked like he strained his achilles to me. Been there done that. There was no contact unless it happened on the play before they showed him limping off the field.

Mike Reiss said that "Meriweather walked off under his own power" which, if your paying attention, is always the kiss of death. I swear everytime he says that the guy is out for the year.

I'm freaking out. I think Meriweather could be one of the most improved players on the team this year. The guy is playing with so much more confidence than last year. Obviously, he needs to prove it on the filed but all signs are pointing the the right direction.

Hope its minor..

Ditto. I think Meriweather could be the most important player in the secondary this season. With all the safeties they have, I was - and I could be wrong - figuring he'd be on the field the most given his versatility and how well he's looked this TC.

Well, I am hoping that no news is good news. If he was going to be IR'ed it would have been announced by now, right?

*fingers crossed*

No, it wouldn't necessarily be announced by now. And yes, *fingers crossed*

That's one thing about the Pats: they don't waste any time putting someone to IR. If Meriweather injury is bad, we should know pretty quickly. As soon as today.

I'm holding out hopes it was just severe cramps from the heat ...

Tank Williams "walked off under his own power." Hope these 2 situations are completely different in outcome.

Paul Perillo just reported BM was seen on crutches after the game. ****......I was so pump with what I have seen from him in camp and the first game. This sucks!

That conflicts with someone else who said they saw Brandon limping to the team bus.

Hmmm...someone is full of it.

I'd say we'll know if he's getting IR'd by tomorrow. Usually I think they give it a day, let the swelling go down, then evaluate it.

I could be wrong on this but is there a chance he injured it on the play before the one that was discussed before. I think there was a pretty big collision, he got up kinda slow, then limped off the field the next play. Could be totally wrong but that was how i remember seeing it.

Fingers crossed, it would make me sick to lose him like this at this point.
