Yeah, I mean it really does seem that way. He's available for all of one hour and we've already inked a deal with him. Feels like this has been in the works for at least a few days, but possibly more.

It could be as simple as this: When this craziness started happening, BB and his staff just thought it all out. If he becomes available, what could we actually offer him that would make sense? They figured it out and waited. Meanwhile, AB told Rosenhaus that if he gets cut, here's where he'd like to go - and listed NE and maybe a few other teams.

When the cut happened, Drew's first call was to NE. We KNOW that AB would have loved to have come to NE based on his reaction to possibly being traded here in the offseason. So he may have said make that your first call. Drew calls BB and BB has the offer ready. Drew relays that to Brown and Brown says, "I like it; just call the three other teams and see what they'll do." Drew calls them and their offers aren't close enough and so within an hour, Brown has made his decision. Drew calls BB back and says we'll take it. And it's done.

Honestly, it could be just that easy.
