Just two thoughts . . .

(1) Apparently they were HS teammates.

(2) Has anyone seen them together at the same time?

Dad must be so proud of Anthony ..........

Yup. Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland Ohio.

That HS produces tons of recruits into the college levels.

Gotta love Gonzo, you guys got a great player!!! Go Bucks!!!

Go bucks :rocker:

Hopefully Gonzo makes some kind of contribution here, I would like to see him stay.

It's been a little while since there's been any OSU blood on this team IIRC, other than Springs in 2009 at the end of his career.

I would've liked to see Heyward here last yr, that one will stick with me.

Did you see Urban Meyer put up a Bill Belichick quote up in his team room? Pretty cool!!!!

Which one lol?

Did not know that. Freaking awesome.

"When do you know your team is ready? When everybody knows what they are doing and why they are doing it" Bill Belichick

I want to make a thread of it when I get my 30 posts so all Pats fans can see it with a photo. I'm also excited that we still have Vrabel on the staff. Word is he really likes to curse on the practice field LOLOL

Finally! We can get what Gisele astutely observed this team needs...

Someone who can both throw the ball and catch it at the same time!

I remember these guys connecting on long bombs when they both had hair.
They were HS team mates at StIgnatius in Cleveland. Anthony was called Tony Gonzalez in HS but changed his preference to Anthony when he went to Ohio State because his grandmother said there was already a Tony Gonzalez (the all world tight end) in the NFL. Anthony was a class ahead of Brian and they were the primary connection when Brian was a Jr. I think I can dig up some tape on a game the two keyed a 4TD comeback late.

Not touching this with a 10-foot pole.

2002 St. Ignatius vs Massillon - Comeback Victory - YouTube

Hoyer came into the game after the QB got hurt. Threw for a TD or two (not sure) one to Gonzo.

Gonzo also had a pick 6.

Not quite. I was at the game. Hoyer started this and every game as a jr and sr.

In this game Gonzo had 3 pics including the pic six late, 3 TD catches from Hoyer, a fumble recovery, and that blocked FG you see in this tape. Hoyer threw for over 300. Gonzo was Ohio Def player of the year as a Sr. The following year Ted Ginn Jr got that same honor. Both starred at WR at OSU.

So Gonzo will challenge Edelperson for a position on the D?

Not quite....Gonzo played bways and he probably came in second on the offense award.... they had to give the offense award to Maurice Clarett who was also National HS player of the year....or maybe it was Beanie Wells.

A guy sent me a private msg about former Ignatius players but I can't respond cuz I don't have enough posts to do private msgs. Anyway, he asked about a Bradesca who went to AFAcad but I don't remember him. Also, if Gonzo had a brother who played. Older brother Joe also played bways for Ignatius and went on to Capt the Indiana defense at Safety.
Other Ignatius players who went east, Chris Hovan and Jim Ramella BC.
Many others but don't remember....I was at bowl game, Hoyer vs Matt Ryan and Jim Ramella. BC won.
