October 18, 1976 I believe was the date

I don't have my Media guide but that has to be it. 41-7 smoke job of the Jets. I once had a chance to hear Lou Holtz speak. He said the low point of his coaching career was this game . He said not only did they get killed on the field but that a drunk jumped out of the stands after the game and challenged him to a fight. They still had MNF football in foxboro though. I believe the last game was in 1980 against the Broncos before the hiatis started.

i have real mixed feelings about this thread. yes, i too long for a less corporate environment and indeed inhaled... But it was tough to take your family or young kids to the games in those days. Please don't slam me for this. I'm just saying I wish there were a happy medium between the old and the new.

No slam at all.I think many of Us who experienced the "Old Days" feel exactly the same way.Remember, our memories are those of 18- 25 year old guys at that time.We looked at the world differently then .

PFS74, I agree with ncpat, we all remember the good fan loyalty and noise but the price was an animal house mentality at the games - it was difficult to bring your wife/girl never mind your kids to a game then - I start taking my kids next season to preseason games to see how it goes - I expect no issues

30 years ago that was not the case - my brother was nevous taking my littel brother and I to the game in 76 and we were 7 and 10 years old surounded by all his buddies who were in their early 20's.

how did you know my age?

Please change your footer or whatever that's called. It hurts to see!

yeah, it's gotta go, but i'm still thinking about it's replacement...i'd planned on "One for the thumb, but we won't be done." but that will have to wait...i'll 86 it in the next few days...

A pro football stadium is no place for corporate snobs, sensitive ears, or little girls.

"An harm ye none, do what ye will."

In other words - smoke up, drink up, party on, hands off.
